All the shops are closed right now, and I'm heading into Kona in the morning. Looking for some Unique and IMR 3031 - wondering who sells Alliant powders. J Hara in Kurtistown has IMR/Hogdon, but no other brand. Wondering if anyone has a complete list of what each store here carries.

Sorry, a little late with this. But Hodgdon’s is trying to market some new powders as similar to some Alliant powders such as Unique. They call their powder IMR Unequal. I have not tried it personally so I cannot say how it performs. But I have tried their new IMR Target powder which is similar to Alliant Bullseye. So far I have had good results with this powder. With all this said, there are so many other powders very close to Unique on the burn rate chart. You should be able to find something that works well. Looking at the chart I see Universal, is the closest with IMR Unequal right there as well. Also close is HP-38 and Winchester 231. I think a lot of people here will swear by HP-38 and W231.

Cool Dave. Never heard of IMR Unequal.
The only source of Unique I’ve seen on Oahu is WGS so not a widely available powder. Fortunately, a little goes a long way.
On a side note, I’ve been looking for IMR 4451 if anyone knows a local source on Oahu. Supposed to work really well in my 6.5 CM.

Huh. I had heard it had been delayed but I had not heard it has been discontinued. Thanks for updating me.
Still, the other powders I mentioned should be good substitutes. And easier to find. :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
