Full version:
Clothing Drive for US Vets – September 29th and 30th, 2018
At the next HHAA gun show on the 29th and 30th, HDF will be hosting a clothing drive for US Vets Kapolei https://www.usvetsinc.org/barberspoint/ (https://www.usvetsinc.org/barberspoint/) . The donation drop off will be open on Saturday from 10 AM until 5 PM, and from 10 AM until 4 PM on Sunday. Between those hours someone will be at the table to receive your donation. Donations should be any gently used adult clothing items, including shoes and belts, but No underwear. The items should also be laundered before drop off. Please bring only what you can comfortably hand carry since we must abide by show and Blaisdell rules, which means there will be no curbside drop off available. Representatives from US Vets will be on hand to write receipts for your donations on both days. We will update this post accordingly if something should change and when we confirm where we'll be at the show, so hit that notification option. If you would like to make a monetary donation instead, I would suggest going through the US Vets website – we will not be accepting cash/checks etc. at the drop off.

This is not an HDF exclusive event - everyone is welcome to donate! HRA, MPPL, LIFE, LGSs and their employees, Pigeon, Pig, and Deer Hunters, Compound Fanatics, Metallic Silhouette, Puuloa, Chinese Gun Club, Skeet and Trap, Scholfield R&G, all are welcome. :shaka:

shorter version:
F&CK NIKE and F&CK KAEPERNICK and F&CK LEVI'S
longer version:
I am donating my NIKE and LEVI'S and other used clothing and shoes to homeless veterans
rather than burning them, throwing them out, or just not wearing them
I am donating them to the very people that they are spitting in the faces of and need them the most
I already have a bag full of jackets, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and shorts to donate
please join us in this effort

Should be laundered...
I did wash it, like 6 or 7 years ago.

i'm up to 2 bags now
am also including some things not on the list, duffle bags and towels
I am guessing that they won't turn those items down

I'm making my bag now. I usually give to my friend who has family in the Philipines. All her relatives walking around balling in Abercrombie shirts and stuff.
I'll have Mrs. Change make a bag also and save the underwear to sell as used to help pay for cases ammo. ;D ;D ;D

I just googled the US Vets......

I have no personal Xp with US Vets, but at least it's clothes donating and not money. I know a few years ago, lots of these type of orgs were getting a bad name due to spending and other related type things.
I have a friend that gets taken care of by the WWP. They flew him to San Fran for a football game a few times (49ers), he got to ring the bell or something pregame. They flew him to San Diego to take part in a bicycle ride with other WWP riders. Probowl stuff when it was here.
So I asked him, I'm hearing bad stuff about WWP and how they leave vets hanging. And he said this, and really only locals would truly understand. "You're either in the hale or not".
So I take reviews with a grain of salt when it comes to any non-profit org.

I don’t think I have a garbage bag big enough to fit a Porsche.

Yeah there’s always a Carl or Leroy Jenkins.

or a porche

Damn. Donated dozens of bags of clothing a couple weeks ago to a local church that my family has donated to for decades. I surely could have contributed to this drive. I’ll see what else I could donate. I have more than I need and sure others could certainly use items that I probably haven’t used in over a year.

- ATTENTION -
With a heavy heart I have to let everyone know the drive has to be cancelled. :( I finally got a response from the organizers after emailing them, they cited the fact that they are sold out and other things: " Unfortunately the Gun Show has been sold out. We would for the future need to look at how we can help you and keep the show integrity. There are two shows a year Spring and Fall, the next being March 2019. Before then let’s discuss how we might be able to integrate you into the show." A BIG mahalos :shaka: to all those that were getting stuff together in preparation. It's a minor setback and it won't deter me from continuing to volunteer my time working with veterans groups. All this after I bought a trash bag big enough for Macsak's Porche.

Sorry to hear that it was cancelled. Thank you for your efforts in pursuing support like this.
And Mac can still donate his Porsche. Zips' gun right's organization could surely use a boost in funding! ;D :shaka:  :geekdanc:
