Anybody watch it last night?
I fell asleep during the last 15 minutes so don't spoil it for me. They will play it again later or I can catch it online.
I have some opinions but I'll shut up for now.
-
Not a fan of the guy who they choose to play Magnum. He's to soft looking. "You're hand is soft, it feels like a woman".
-
I will be boycotting Magnum PI
they are filming a few houses away from me right now
initially it was only for 1 day, now it is for 2 more days, maybe more
they block off 3-4 blocks around the filming spot, and there is no parking in the neighborhood. this is in kaimuki so parking is very scarce as it is, add in this BS and I gotta park 2-3 blocks away and theres 4 cars at my house that use street parking and I have to do the parking and walking myself
its a major PITA!!! :grrr:
same goes for Hawaii 5-0. they do the same thing, only worse.
idk why, but they like to shoot in kaimuki and in my neighborhood
I will not be watching PI and his slow-arse Ferrari, and his wimpy mouse gun
I hope the show gets cancelled >:D
maybe if I lived in a different area, I would feel differently. my opinion is biased, of course

I watched it and it was boring i won't waste my time watching it again. Too much bs impossible stuff happening. Show needs to be more realistic.

Millennials got to have their impossible CGI stuff to stay entertained, if that is what you refer to. An attention span thing perhaps.
I just will not watch network TV at all these days.

Does the show have commercials?
I can't stand watching shows with commercials.
I rarely watched the original Magnum. My ex was a big fan in college, but then what college girl wasn't (other than the female rugby team members)? Hunky star with a funny sense of humor, boyish banter, and an expensive car/chick-magnet.
Casting a female Higgins is a bad move. From the few times I watched with my future wife, the old Higgins was supposed to be this man of mystery with contacts worldwide and no-nonsense attitude about looking after the estate.
The new Magnum-Higgins cast is just going to be another sexual tension aspect meant to draw in more people who love soap operas. Eventually the two will have an unintended romp in the hay, they'll pretend like it didn't happen, then finally decide it's what they want.
Geesh! I could be a TV writer... :geekdanc:

....
Not a complete wot, it gave me a 15 minute nap.
But seriously, I think that show could use a testosterone injection.
-
Magnum got his ass kicked at least three times on the show. Recovered the next day from a beating that would have put almost anyone else in the hospital for at least a week.

Must be a tough guy
I get a chance to see the last 15 minutes on Sunday night.

I expect ratings will plummet now that the nerds figured out "P.I." doesn't equal 3.14159265359...

To be honest, Magnum was prior to my time. I heard about him and his red Ferrari, but never watched an episode.
Heard he turned down Han Solo to do Magnum instead.
I do remember the show Sledge Hammer (slept with a 44 under his pillow), Air Wolf, McGuyver, Giligans Island, Flipper, and Flinstones.

Seems like all the "good" TV shows have been done, so now networks are going after "reboots" of the 1980s & 1990s:
Rosanne
Magnum PI
Murphy Brown
$100,000 Pyramid (updated for inflation)
Alf (in development)
Amazing Stories (in development)
Battle of the Network Stars (1 season ended Sept 2017 - not renewed)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (being shopped for a network)
Daria *animated* (as Daria & Jody -- in development at MTV)
Dynasty (season 2 starts in Oct 2018)
Fantasy Island (in development)
Hawaii 50 (okay, earlier than 1980, but still ...)
Many others being reported as in development and may not ever go to broadcast, but it shows there is a big interest in updating favorites from the past for today's TV audiences.

i would love to see a reboot of the A-team, but without Rampage Jackson as Mr. T
I like the idea of a no brainer series that's just action, shooting guns, and explosions
bring in a guest star to get ratings each week.
theres no real action series anymore on tv. they're all some sort of millennial soap opera nowadays with a juvenile sense of humor and sexual tension between co-stars. maybe that's the new formula to get ratings and sell commercials
-
I don't care for many reboots of shows that I used to like back in the day. Hell, when I watch reruns of stuff I used to like back in the day, I don't find them as entertaining. Getting old I guess. . . :(
-
Cbs network has Seal Team and SWAT.
Both of which have plenty testosterone.
Maybe that's why they castrated magnum.....to appeal to the non-penis audience.
-
I watch SWAT. its pretty good.
now I find myself watching mostly gun and hunting shows on the Outdoor channel and sports, mostly NBA and combat sports. and other shows on the history channel

That was being developed, too, but ultimately scrapped.
THE A-TEAM
WHAT IT WAS: A contemporary take on Stephen J. Cannell’s ‘80s action series, which was
to revolve around a team of male and female American Special Forces operatives who try
to uncover the black-ops conspiracy that framed them for a crime.
STATUS: Being shopped to networks (September 2015) No longer in development.

The wife and I watch the Outdoor channel even though we don't hunt. We love the gun commercials and infomercials (Bond Arms Derringer).

I found some shows that I loved as a kid not so much anymore thanks to them being on Amazon Prime. I guess I grew up.
Dinosaurs-boring now
Step by step-boring now
Full House-good, but not awesome like how I remember it. Kind of boring actually
Saved by the Bell-still awesome (except the college years, this one always sucked)
Family Matters-Loved it as a kid, afraid to watch because I might not like it anymore
Simpsons-Boring compared to Family Guy
For the reboots
Lethal Weapon-stopped watching about 5 episodes in. Was a Debby Downer, always talking about his wife just as the show gets funny/action
5-0- Still prefer Jack Lord one. Only watched to see if I know anyone in the background. Stopped after the 2nd season
Roseanne-Good until they removed her. Becky looked like a $2 hooker
-
Never watched the original and not about to watch a body
being exhumed.
My question is why everyone thinks Honolulu is Hawaii?
I've been here 18 years and I think that Honolulu is about the most
un-Hawaiian place in our islands. It is filled with tyrannical
Democrats that tax the heck out of everyone else to pay
for bad schools, a train very few will use, and pay for
their version of un-economical electrical power.
Full disclosure - I'm going off grid in 2019 using
my version, my payback is 6 years.

Not sure Lethal Weapon counts as a reboot. It was not a TV show before.

Seems like all the "good" TV shows have been done, so now networks are going after "reboots" of the 1980s & 1990s:
Much like grunge and later "music" a lot of rehashed tunes from years ago that someone with creativity wrote.
Seems the current generation doing the writing has no imagination and must get by by copying what the masters of a long time ago created.

My Ex was buying CDs (before iPods) for our young daughter. She kept getting her stuff she hatted -- all current pop music of the 90s.
I was smart enough to ask what she liked. I got her CDs of Pink Floyd, Blondie, The Beatles, Queen and other 70s-80s era music -- all stuff I grew up on.
She still liked a few contemporary groups, but mostly the ones who "revived" oldies from those other decades in their own style, like UB40's "Can't help falling in Love", a classic Elvis hit.

I caught the last 15 minute that I missed previously.
Not impressed with the writing.
