I saw where Putin is quoted as saying he asked all the top intelligence officials about her and no one had ever heard of her. Not that Putin and all those guys wouldn't lie their asses off for no reason at all...

But that's irrelevant to Mueller and SDNY et al. Failure to register as an agent of a foreign government... hell, half of DC is guilty of that (Podesta), if you want to get technical about it... which is what they did in this case.
