it's already out. HK released it on Valentine's Day. I'm surprised that it is out of stock already.

I’d like to try the “B” version in both the standard and long slide. Compare against my PPQ 4” and 5” versions.
-
I've tried the B and it didn't feel right for a HK. It's like Ferrari coming out with a 6 cylinder.

Got email from HK yesterday, back in stock $449.00, free shipping. They are on Gunbroker for a little less.

The grip on the Q5 SF looks interesting. I like the grip on the PPQ. I’ve shot my 5” barrel version in a few matches and it seemed slightly more flippy than my G34. I bet the added weight would balance things nicely.
Get one of each! ;D

Mdot - Were you able to try the VP9L? There were a couple at the shoot on Sun. I didn't recall that it was you that started this discussion.
I was able to check out the long slide, but didn't end up shooting it. It did seem VERY similar to my PPQ 5". The owner did say that he liked it. The FO front sight that came with his setup was very bright.
-
Nah I haven't shot one yet, I'll more than likely end up buying the kit. I'm gonna hold off on the Q5 SF until they come out with the paddle model which according to the Walther rep I spoke to is definetly on its way.

Since many were mentioning semi-autos for the next range day, could do a comparison of long/competition slide guns. I have a 34 and PPQ 5" and dogman and his buddy has the VP9L. Maybe that will inspire you and Mac to buy one ;D
-
Maybe it's because I'm still relatively new, but I couldn't really tell the diff and I shot both side by side. So if it were me, I would buy the L cause it looks badass. But factoring in the cost, new holster, and MRD that I would add, it's way down on my list of things to buy.

What differences were you looking for or expecting? Felt recoil? Accuracy? I haven't shot the VP9 much in general, but I don't think I'd appreciate much of a difference either. :(
I haven't really shot my PPQ 4" and 5" side-by-side much. I bought the 5" mostly for competition, but I've also shot the 5" model in training courses as well though. I'd probably have to try again and maybe shoot something like a mag with one and a mag with the other. I think the 4" model might feel a little snappier, but probably not super noticeable. I didn't think of the holster cost much because the 5" was pretty much mainly for competition and the 4" for training and CCW.

I was expecting less of a recoil.
