The past two months, I travelled to Texas, Phoenix and Arizona. Spent 5 days at both places and carried every day while I was out. What a feeling to be able to have a firearm to protect yourself if anything bad went down. Both places were cold and so it was easy to conceal with hoodies and coats. Man, really don’t see why we can’t CCW here? Also, took several of my rifles to shoot it out in the deserts. Shot pass 1,000 yards and finally used the potential of my rifle & scopes. Wish us non military firearm enthusiast had 1,000 ranges to practice long range shooting. We in Hawaii can’t shoot pass a 100 yards until we’re in Molokai & Lanai on a hunt. Anyways,Is it just a fantasy to think that Hawaii will ever allow its citizens to CCW? just had to share.

Yes it is an awesome experience to feel the freedom. Living and growing up in HI, people don't realize how much they have been suppressed. It's a shame!!

Heard MGM exects got fired. Pres of Mirage, NYNY, MGM, Mandalay Bay.

I've only carried in Vegas. But yes, there is a sense on comfort knowing you are not completely helpless if God forbid you are near an active shooter or malicious person choosing you or a loved one as a victim. My wife has her carry permit also but doesn't feel comfortable carrying yet when we go up. So it's my responsibility that she is kept safe. We can only keep fighting for our RIGHT to carry here is Hawaii. Even if it is going to happen Hawaii will prolong that process for many more years.
I used to carry my Glock 19 appendix but since picking up a P365 last year I can actually use urinals now carrying at 9 o'clock LMAO!

I carry Glock 19 with a Bravo OWB holster. I adjusted forward when I’m walking but adjusted backwards when I have to sit down.

Just finished a two day class at FS with my 13 yr old grandson. There was a 10 year old girl and another 12 yr old boy in our class. Surprised me how well she shot a 9mm handgun. She was less than 4.5 ft tall and must have weighed only about 70 lbs, but she would be able to defend herself with a handgun if she needed to. Bummer was it rained for couple hours today during the class and most of last night, so the ground was muddy. Sandy mud. I saw some guys who were taking the rifle class all dirty on the front, feet to chest. Must have been from shooting from the prone position. It was also windy, so it was cold. A guy from Idaho, a constitutional carry state, told me today that Kentucky will become one next week. That will make #16 according the the NRA. In the mean time, I get to conceal carry here for 11 more days before I return to the Peoples Republic of Hawaii.
Correction on the age. The girl must have been at least 11, which is the youngest age FS allows if supervised by parent or guardian. She was there with both parents and her slightly older brother. If you saw her you would think she was about 8, but was able to rack the slide and didn’t let the recoil of a 9mm faze her one bit.

Peoples Republic of Hawaii 🤣. So true!

Was in the Ross store in Vegas today. The guy in picture walks in with his kid. Guess what? No one gave a shit. I love Vegas. I don't gamble, but I love to eat and shop for certain things. Both the shopping and eating here is great. Staying in a condo and bought 2 dozen ex lg eggs for $3.69.
-
Did he shoot up the store? He must have according to our law makers. Because we all know anyone with a gun in a public area is the wild west.

75 is our 55 here lol. I remember getting mean mugs and blown by going 80 in the fast last on the I-15 lmao.
I'm glad I have a lot of family in Vegas. The first thing I do is go to my cousin's house and grab all his 15, 17 and 33 round glock mags. He always tells me, "dude you can't fit all that sh!t in your pants" while I walk out his front door responding with a loud and fading "freedom!" Lol

Another thing that shows how free AZ is, I was researching their knife laws and found this.
Switchblades, gravity knives, Bowie knives, and stilettos are legal. It is legal for anyone over 21 to carry knives concealed. It is illegal to not inform a police officer when they stop you that you are carrying a concealed knife when the knife is not a pocket knife.
In contrast, NV allows you to carry a gun, but knife blades must be 3 inches or less.
-
Wow that’s interesting. Good for AZ. Surprise about Vegas knife laws.

Weird huh? Open carry no permit needed. But cant conceal a knife 3 inches+ or machete.
Hawaiis +1 on that one.

Had breakfast at Dennys in Kingman this morning. A guy walks in open carrying with his family. Once again, no one even blinks an eye. Was looking very carefully at everyone who stood up to see if anyone was carrying. Was hard to tell since temps are in the low 50s and people were wearing jackets. Couple guys l thought were probably carrying because printed a bit.

It's so sad to me (and disgusting and frustrating... but understandable) that we, here in Hawaii, have such "reactions" to being somewhere where people actually live by the doctrines embodied by the Constitution. I suspect it is similar to what American slaves at a certain point in time experienced if they had the opportunity to observe "free" blacks. "Hey, look! There's a black person over there talking to white people and going about his business, buying stuff for himself, without having to kowtow to an owner! And no one is blinking an eye! WTF?!"

Those guns look heavy. After 2 weeks of carrying my G19 with 15+1 and a spare 15 rd mag, I want to get a smaller, lighter CCW handgun. Going to look at either the Sig P365 or G43. You can get 8 rd mags for the G43 that fits pretty flush and spare 12 rd mags. Decided against the 43X because the 43 is slimmer and a little smaller.

Owner was open carrying a big Glock, not sure of the model, but can you imagine the reaction in Hawaii if people saw a sign like that in a jewelry store here.

The 365 comes with a 12rd mag. And with that mag, it feels more comfortable. I noticed with the 10 rd mag, my support thumb is about 1/2 inch from the barrel. To close for comfort, especially if shooting under stress where form will not be the best. But with the standard 12rd mag, it caused my thumb to move back more away from front of the barrel. That extra half inch on the bottom of the magazine really helped. I tried this in Vegas where 12 rd mags are legal.
Never fired it so I can't tell you how that felt.

I don't have a 43X but it is basically a slim G19. My P365 with a 12rd mag is still shorter than the 43X and G19.
Before anyone trips out my 12rd mag has a restricted follower installed by a certified gunsmith. When I get to Vegas I pop out the restricted follower and put the factory one in.

My experience:
So I moved to AZ from Hawaii December last year, lived Hawaii 23 years, love Hawaii always will. but it was time to finally buy a house and move on.
got my concealed carry permit at the Prime sports concealed carry application day (a brutal 6 hour wait, many people waited 3-4 hours and bailed out) so I would have the permit when I arrived in AZ and didn't have to take training course.
(don't need a permit what so ever, but you need one if you want to carry in a place that serves alcohol, and I am not locking my gun in my car every time I go to a restaurant)
1) What I noticed in AZ: I am always looking to see if people are carrying! and surprisingly only seen 2 people open carry, (one in Walmart, one in furniture store) haven't seen many carrying concealed either (that I can see, but it is cold now and people are wearing big shirts and sweat jackets.
Point is: I don't see the people carrying everywhere, like I thought I would.
not the wild west
2) I carry everywhere! granted there are places that post a small (no firearms sign) very few and I hope it stays that way. you really have to look hard to find the sign at the front entrance.
movie theater (had to go back and lock my g43 in glove box, went in with empty holster)
mall in glendale (same as above)
gas station 3 blocks from my house (fuck them i carry in there anyways, because there pump is always messing up)
mexican resturant by my house (didnt even notice the sign until i went outside to take a business call, so i just waited outside until my order was ready. i ordered to go)
Point is: its really not a big deal!, thought it was going to be first time i carried, i was i little nervous about it. you get really used to it fast.
In AZ it just feels like something that is accepted, weather you are a gun person or not (i cant imagine carrying in hawaii. people would freak out!) hope that it changes but Doubt it.
Saw a guy driving a big white truck, with huge american flag mural painted on the side. on the tail gate he had the 2 amendment quoted across the back!
Awesome! wanted to pull the guy over and ask him where to shoot.
First time open carrying: went to white tank mountain, lots of tourist (snow birds!) funny watching the snow flakes from cali and other states reaction to seeing a gun. most didnt notice but a few groups kind of got quite and just stayed away. (doesnt bother me one bit)
I havent had a chance to go shooting yet, but the range all charge here (no big deal)
hope to go soon and talk to some people, Ben avery range has shooting while riding a horse!, long range silhouette rifle range and a bunch of other ranges!
Living my whole life in gun hateing states (Cali, Hawaii) and now moving to freedom is quite eye opening! Incredable feeling not haveing to worry about traveling with a gun.
Since i am not really a club kind of guy
i look forward to:
drawing from a holster
i want to convert my Kriss vector and my CZ scorpion to SBR
suppressors!
being able to sling my rifle and transition from rifle to pistol
shooting on open land!
hi cap mags
Just my 2 cents
Take care Patriots of Hawaii, ever near Pheonix look me up!
Alex

Thx for sharing your CCW experience Alex808. I shot at Ben Avery Range. What an amazing setup. You’re right, it wasn’t that big of deal to them. I too only saw a few people open carry.
Still jealous of you guys. Enjoy my Braddah. Going to look you up next time I’m in Phoenix 🤙🏽🤙🏽
