For anyone interested in this event and how it is being responded to politically, especially with regard to "gun laws", read this article (I know, I know, "It can't happen here..."):

New Zealand's Gun Laws Are Already Changing After the Christchurch Attacks
"To make our community safer, the time to act is now."
University of Waikato International Law Professor Alexander Gillespie :
"All firearms are a risk, but some [semi-automatic] are a much greater risk than others," he said. "It’s absolutely not about banning guns—it’s about banning that high-risk gun.” [Seriously?!]
"To make our community safer, the time to act is now," she [Prime Minister] said. "I want to remind people, you can surrender your gun to the police at any time. In fact, I have seen reports that people are in fact already doing this. I applaud that effort, and if you are thinking about surrendering your weapon, I would encourage you to do so."

Here's a photo of the Prime Minister adopting Muslim tradition of dress:

I wonder if she underwent FMG (female genital mutilation) so as to be truly empathetic with their culture?

New Zealand is renown for their sheep. Perhaps the people have been intermingling with the livestock a little too much.

When I respond to anti 2a when the gloat about people turning in their guns, I tell them " If someone feels like they are mentally unstable and will use their gun to kill innocent people, then by all means, they should surrender their guns".

full semi-auto?

he lined up the gas block port over the barrel gas port, before it wasn't, it was off by 1/8". and then he installed the gas tube right-side up.
just kidding, I made that up. I have no idea how NZ sells a one-shot manual AR-15.

50 caliber in clip in less than half a second...
I say that again. half a second magazine in 30 calibers.
-
full semi-auto?
Crap.
Never go full auto.

My buddy in NZ is notorious for "bubba-ing" guns. You'd cringe at what he'll try to do with a dremel. He's half-maori and he tried to carve tribal designs into nice wood rifle stocks. Some were AKs, but he's also tried it on pretty nice Enfields and such. He's hilarious though. I wouldn't put it past him to have done one of his custom jobs on an AR that converted it from semi-auto to a single shot AR.

Some clarification. Shooter entered and first shots were from his semi auto shotgun. Guy says rifle. Important because after all 6 rounds were expended, he dropped the shotgun and used his rifle he also brought (slung).
Interesting video though. Esp. how he mentions it's a learning tool. So he knows what to do in a similar situation.
Knockoutlights on IG mentioned he talked a SWAT guy, so someone who has lots of weapons training. There was a shoot out in a market. The SWAT guy said he pulled the trigger twice at the target. The target did not drop, nor did the SWAT guy hear the 2 rounds go off. So he thought he had a jam. He then shot at a bag of chips and it exploded (gun working). By the time he got back on target, the target fell to the ground. So even the best trained people can have tunnel vision. Worth mentioning, because possible the NZ shooter also had tunnel vision in his calm state because that 1 guy trying to run away managed to get close enough to knock him down. He was checking behind himself often after that (gopro's vision went to front then back).
