Anyone do bowhunting?
I bought myself a recurve and have a compound bow on the way. Anyone have the will to show a noob the ropes in hunting in Hawaii? :D

Go to the archery range in kapolei. They will help you with the basics. They also have a course with stuffed animal targets that simulate what you may find hunting at different ranges.

I was considering doing that! I heard they have a pretty nice setup there and are open to the public every saturdays. It's just such a far drive. I live in Makiki O_o.

I live in Makiki too. If it's still open, the closest archery range closest to us is probably the one by the diamond head tennis courts. Although I think no one operates it, it's just there for people to use whenever as long as the park is open.

It actually just got locked down last week. Some asshole landed an arrow in the tennis courts. It would be have been perfect too, considering I work in Waikiki. Would've been able to go before/after work. The parks and recreation head is deciding whether to keep it open or not. Probably gonna close because it seems like that person wants to close it for the longest time and was just looking for an excuse to close it. RIP Kapiolani archery range.

Aww that blows, I was gonna go there when I finally get around to picking up a bow. It was probably one of that guy's flunkies :grrr:
