wonder what the Karl Rhoads would say? After all his district has quite a few convenience stores

The video shows a man walk into the Plaid Pantry around 1 a.m., walk up to the counter and pull a 12-inch hatchet from his pants. He shows it to the clerk, who then pulls out a gun.
As the clerk picked up the phone to call 911, the robber slid the hatchet across the counter, put his hands up and reportedly said, "I'm sorry. I'll leave." He then ran out of the store.

So good guy with a gun stopped a crime? But that's impossible. According to most of our politicians, the good guy with the gun is the bad guy and the hatchet wielding man is the good guy.

Looks like the report was removed from the site

Cops said they couldn't locate the would-be robber after he ran away even with K-9 units.
Hopefully there are prints on the hatchet.

"The president of Plaid Pantry told KOIN 6 News the stores have a zero tolerance for weapons and the clerk is no longer employed there."

and there's the clincher.
Let's not reward the good intended employee - just fire his ass for standing up for their store. :grrr:
Mine as well give the robber a free for all and help him with a cart

Unless you are forced to, never, ever talk to cops!
When I was a kid, I worked in a Liquor store in a minority neighborhood.
My store did not have a "store gun" but all my buddies that worked
in liquor stores knew about the shotgun in the cooler and the revolver under the cash register.
