HiCarry from the Hawaii Rifle Association (http://hawaiirifleassociation.org) posted a notice on both the HRA forums (http://www.hawaiirifleassociation.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=176) and ForumsHawaii (http://www.forumshawaii.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=541270) about Senator Inouye's agenda regarding gun rights. Of course it is now too late to call in as suggested in this post, but it is good to know that we always have the HRA there looking out for us.
We have a lot of barriers to go up against here in Hawaii when it comes to gun rights. Remember that both of our Senators voted against reciprocal concealed carry (http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=111&session=1&vote=00237), and not just Senator Inouye.
Here is the post from HiCarry
One of the issues we as gun owners have is that the politicians who are supposed to be representing us, usually instead push their own views when it comes to promoting legislation. Senator Inouye recently wrote a letter to a constituant outlining his anti-gun views.
In the July issue of the HRA newsletter you can read Senator Inouye's stand on gun control. You can see that he supports the reinstatement of the "assault weapons" bill, believes that cities, like Washington D.C. should be able to make their own gun laws, and that he believes gun manufactures should be held liable when someone misuses a gun.
Senator Inouye will be on a call-in radio program on KZOO, on Monday from 1830 to 1930. The number to call in is 941-5966. It might be a good time to convey your feelings on the Senator's views on gun control.
