Their public relations firm declined to answer any of our questions, saying via email that “Ala Moana Center cannot discuss the details of their security procedures.”

That's a good one. . .

They can’t discuss them because they don’t have any security procedures. I worked out of a contractor’s field office in Ala Moana center for 2.5 years. Security was more concerned about making sure no one was illegally parking than they were concerned about the Japanese tourists dropped off by the bus load that had to step over homeless sleeping around the bus stops as they exited the buses.

CEL was the inspection and testing company for the project. I was working for Mid Pac Engineering at the time. They contracted me out to the general contractor A.C. Kobayashi to do QA/QC for the project.

Nope, not Chuck. But I heard after the project, Chuck retired and Kobayashi might have hired him to do what I was doing for them on their next big project. Mind you, this is just what I heard. So take it as such.

So do you work for CEL? Would I have worked with you?
