Please keep up to date on the hunting bills in the legislature and follow the GMAC committee hearings.
Please provide testimony for these two hunting bills coming up for hearing:
SB2188 - Confiscates firearms used in a hunting crime on your first violation(currently law says 2nd violation). Some of the crimes sound very petty, not a crime problem, or could be done by inexperienced hunters. I think the current law is fine. For example selling endangered species parts, not having a hunting guide license, hunting on private property at night, killing wild birds, hunting on private property w/o permission. What are your thoughts for or against?
Read the list of offenses involved for this bill:

Lol no hunting at night on private land good luck on enforcing that!

Growing up on a fruit/veggie farm as a kid, it was our duty to shoot wild bobos so they wouldnt eat and destroy all the papayas and other fruits. Those things are pests and non-native and should be controlled. When they say wild, do they mean wild game birds or all birds not purchased from a petshop?

"Wild birds" means birds, other than game birds, living in a wild and undomesticated state, and the young and eggs of those birds."
I didn't know this was a thing. My friend killed a pidgeon with a rock in high school. He could've gotten a year in prison with this.

Are kids (under 16 ::) ) exempt? Had those Daisy pellet guns growing up. Sling shots too. Birds weren’t safe in our neighborhood.
Was there a compelling reason why they proposed such a measure? Not that they actually “need” one. . .

Please help our 2A brothers and sisters in the hunting community:
SB2417 Recognizes game mammals and birds as a sustainable food source. Please call or email Senator Donovan Delacruz at 808-586-6090 or sendelacruz@capitol.hawaii.gov and request that a hearing be scheduled in the Ways and Means committee for SB2417 and you support this bill.
We need as many people as possible to contact his office tomorrow (Friday). This bill will die next week if a committee hearing is not scheduled. This bill will help to strengthen hunting rights and sustainability.

Passed Rep Yamanes house water and land committee. Moving on to Finance. Thanks should make it through.
Hopefully this will prevent Maui's pig, goat, and deer erradication.
