I don't know how long you've been married. 43 years now, for me.
I never ask a question that I already don't know the answer to in
a contentious situation. to do otherwise is very dangerous whether
you are married to a Lawyer or a country farm girl that never finished high school.
Sounds sort of cold hearted, but it sure saves a lot of hurt feelings.

A mere 39 w/ my S/O and I can tell you it's all about compromise.
We shared this advice with our friends, a younger couple.
She wanted ducks.
He did not want ducks.
So they compromised.
