Title: Gofundme for Cali legal battle
Post by: mangosteenqueen on May 28, 2020, 04:26:59 PM
While this is not Hawaii would anyone here care to help a fellow Asian-American’s battle against California’s unconstitutional legal system?
Short story is that the victim is a tenant in a household and police came for a unrelated to him, they did a house search and confiscated his collection of (California legal) guns, and now faces felony charges.

Although unconstitutional, he didn't do anything to help.  He post on his social media his rifles often since the AWB ban.  I'm surprised they didn't find him sooner.  We all saw the vids of the police showing up at homes to enforce it.

Also link doesnt work.

Spends $40K on "high end" firearms.

Needs to raise funds to defend against felony laws prohibiting assault-style firearms?  ???

You posted the gun collection was "California Legal".  That's partly true.  The "Assault Weapons" (and we know that definition was created by CA lawmakers) were made illegal by a new law.

So, "they confiscated his collection which contained some recently-made-illegal firearms" would be more accurate.

The AWB in CA is obviously in conflict with existing law and the Constitution, but that's not going to be this person's primary defense.  He knew the new law, and he had the illegal firearms -- just as CA lawmakers intended.  They made a felon out of a law abiding gun owner to make sure he can never own another gun legally ever again.  Cops hope that red flag laws weed out the newly-created criminals, but never discount the policing benefits of stumbling upon contraband in the name of "verifying the place was safe."

I was born and raised in CA.
I think I have been in Hawaii
longer than I was in CA.
I lived in WA state for 20 years or so.
I believe all these states governments
are about as fucked as can be.
I have no respect for any governments
there or here.
If those governments die.
Good riddance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never, ever, ever talk to a cop.
I keep a lawyer on speed dial.
I never violate laws, but
cops do as they please.

Good luck speed-dialing your mouthpiece
while your phone is busy recording the ass-kicking you're taking!   :shake: :geekdanc:

Very good!
I got six years in the military
for Felony assault on a cop,
and a Bailiff.
The only reason I survived
is I was a minor.
The gun in my face was very
BIG!
Personally,  I would still hit that cop again.
Lawyers cost a lot, but
pissed off cops cost even more.
Aloha.

I believe he has all his replies pre-typed.

He copies small sections at a time from a variety of draft comments, and then he pastes each of them one-section-per-line.  It's similar to a ransom note created from cut-out magazine letters.

Sometimes one snippet can appear to be a continuation of the previous snippet.

Other times, not even close.

I'm divided on whether to donate or not.  Having $40,000 worth of firearms I think would indicate he either has a lot of money already or squandered his wealth which doesn't look good either way.  On the other hand, this has the possibility to create good precedent if he wins to overturn California's gun laws which may protect us here in Hawaii.

I'd like to know if he has helped with the 2A community and activism.  Also if he will use this case to benefit the 2A community by overturning restrictive gun laws versus just trying to get himself free.

He’s a pretty cool guy and like the description of the original GFM post, he’s active. I think if he manages to get through all of this then it would be a good sign.
