Your entire argument against the President protecting homes, businesses and law abiding citizens against violence is he might not win in November?
You don't know Trump at all. He has yet to make an important decision based on the political consequences.
Damn! I thought you were smarter than that.

I want Trump to win.
Deploying military police within the continental US just provides fuel to his enemies, as someone crossing the Rubicon.
Biden is a sure loser and his supporters will use this against Trump.
Trump is a businessman and not an American imperialist, like the career politicians before him or will come after him. However, this move will surely portray him as one.

Your opinion.
Maybe the majority would rather see a President stand up for law, order and the people not rioting more than they want him to make decisions based on what's best for the next election?
It's been a long held belief that Republicans win more often than not when they focus on the responsibilities of their position -- political consequences be damned.
Democrats like to take polls, and the media uses the polls to tell the masses how they are supposed to react.
You seem to think a President can't do his job as he sees fit AND get reelected, too. Democrats/media will blast Trump whether he turns left, turns right, or stands still. Makes no difference.
Obviously giving the "protesters room to express themselves" didn't turn out too well under Obama and certain Democrat mayors and governors.

Politics still has a lot to do with perception.
Right now, Covid-19 and the coming economic depression will be used viciously against Trump to great effect. Democrat voters are still in disarray because of the senility of Biden and Trump must not do anything to give Democrats a united front of voters.
Throwing in the military police into the inferno will be viewed very negatively by not only those who detest Trump, but by his own "blue collar prepper base" that loathes any movement by the military onto US soil; thereby, potentially robbing him of some of his most die-hard constituency.

Historically, when facing a major crisis, voters are less likely to "switch horses in mid stream". It's one of the reasons Obama won reelection.
Trump didn't cause the crisis we're in, and he proved almost 4 years ago he can rev the economy beyond anyone's expectations.
Biden has a track record of being wrong on every issue.

Outside of world war, the US has never been in such a divided state between the races, the social classes, rich and poor, citizens and illegal immigrants, not to mention facing a global pandemic and economic crises getting similar to the extent of the Great Depression a 100 years ago, all at the same time.
Nothing should not be taken for granted, as there is no precedents to draw upon and things are very fluid right now.

There is NO empirical evidence to back up that statement.
That's based on your feelings and beliefs. I contend it's never been a better time to be a minority in the US -- be it race, gender, social class, economic class, or otherwise.
Perfect? Nope. But name a better time than right now and explain how the division today is worse.
Then toss in how the media makes billions on the divisive BS they spew daily.
Politicians learned a long time ago that if they can keep the public divided, they can work the sides against each other and gain power themselves.

Are you on planet Earth or been living on Mars all this time?

Easy for you to say, if you are not part of the minority.

Myself and posters like Hvybarrels have numerous times cited evidence like wealth distribution disparity and, myself, the socio-economic plight of Hawaiians for years and you have the selective ignorance to make such a statement claiming the absence of proof to the contrary.

I agree.
Politicians learned a long time ago that if they can keep the public divided, they can work the sides against each other and gain power themselves.
Politicians' tactical use of divide and conquer is to make sure Americans do not unite to restore the republic, but maintain the current American empire.
-

Childish and unresponsive comment. Nothing substantive to refute my statement?
Easy for you to say, if you are not part of the minority.
I'm simply saying what MANY in the minority have said. Do some research.
BTW, as a White guy in Hawaii, I am in the minority.
Myself and posters like Hvybarrels have numerous times cited evidence like wealth distribution disparity and, myself, the socio-economic plight of Hawaiians for years and you have the selective ignorance to make such a statement claiming the absence of proof to the contrary.
Hawaiians are oppressed by their own state, not the federal gov't. Hawaii receives more money in federal aid than HI tax payers send to DC. The federal dollars for military bases, highways, public works (including rail) and education create jobs, support thousands of families, and decrease the "socio-economic plight" the greedy locals in Hawaii gov't cause.
Talk about ignorant. :wtf:
I also notice you failed to answer the question I asked. I don't ever want to see you try to call anyone else out for that!
You failed to name a better time in the US to be a minority.
I agree.
Thank God for small miracles! :shaka:

You really can't alter your rhetorical BS to avoid falling into the same rabbit hole again and again, huh? Not every person in the country has some sinister goal of keeping the country as some mythical empire. Their motives are more personal than that. The thing about Capitalism is it acknowledges (and leverages) the human instinct to do that which is in their best interest. Take a poor person off the street or a billionaire in her mansion eating expensive ice cream. Given two choices, one that produces benefits for themselves and one that diminishes their resources to help someone else, for the most part we know which they will choose. The trick is in understanding that their ability to support themselves and their families relieves society of that burden, and it may grow into a source of jobs for others.

What if I said you couldn’t understand something because your not part of the whites?
-
What if I said you couldn’t understand something because your not part of the whites?
I would have to concur with that statement because I am not white.

This evening news showed a lot of protesters around the White House. I hope they have enough sense not to try and storm the gate or hop the fence.
I am pretty sure the Secret Service will shoot any who did so with real live ammo and not rubber bullets.

One's gotta think that those people who are protesting and rioting, not the criminal looters, know the consequences of their actions, especially since they number in the thousands.
If they try to pull-off a stun like that, we could be looking at the beginnings of another American revolution and/or the potential dismemberment of the American empire.

The American Republic died at the passage of the 16th and 17th
Amendments in 1913.
What we have now is an Oligarchy.
Recent events prove that.

There are already curfews and "temporary restrictions" on civil liberties.
What do you think is next?
Martial Law? Gun Confiscation?

Martial Law? Gun Confiscation?
We had curfews when I grew up in SE Los Angeles county.
Civil Liberties weren't exactly a high priority there either.
This in the 60's.
Hawaii, just because they could do it, Locked down the entire state.
How is that different from Martial Law?
Gun confiscation, you have that now, deFacto since you have to get
government permission to obtain/possess one.
Your greatest fears are already here. Single party state with virtually
unlimited power over your life.
I'm not prescient, so I can't see the future. I'd expect
that there will be a "white" flight from major cities.
As I have already done.
I'd also expect a further isolation of citizens of America
that want to be special.
The rest of us just don't need the hassle.
Technology is really going to change how we
live, do business, and if you aren't smart
enough to keep up you will be left behind.

I’m not saying what you posted is wrong or misleading. Even tho I wouldn’t doubt that almost anything produced by RT is purposely misleading. You need to know what country is behind RT videos if you don’t already. I have watched close to 50 videos produced by them and find them to take some truth and then sensationalize it to get emotional people worked up. They continually take a truthful situation and purposely mislead some aspect of it. In English. Which means they are purposely trying to influence an election and win the race to be the #1 fake news outlet in the US.
The good thing I like about the RT videos and reporting is that I hear about international news days if not weeks before our media reports on it. For instance the issue between China and India. I heard about it on RT almost a week before I heard about it on the news here. RT told purposeful lies to make the situation look worse than it is. Don’t get me wrong, it has the potential to be really bad. But for right now it is not what they reported it to be. JMHO

"There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people." -William Adama, Battlestar Galactica

Awesome quote and very fitting to what is happening in the US today.
The American republic is dead, as proof of the protests and riots that are happening in numerous cities. Now with fascist cops and imperial military personnel roughing up people in the streets and taking shots at families on the porches of their own homes, how can anyone deny that the American empire is now showing its wings domestically?

The quote is apropos, but we are not dead yet. This is another test to see if we will surrender liberty for convenience and by the reactions of a lot of people I am finally starting to have some hope. For a while people were asleep but they definitely are starting to wake up now.

He's thinking 4 steps ahead of the people who hate him. Let things get worst, then activate his plan. If he does it right from the start, many will blame him if it fails or goes wrong (like a NG shooting someone/ University of TX example from the 70s). He's mobilizing if needed. Why you think they let protestors burn the guard shack near the WH? So when more force is applied, he can show why.
I'm sure an impeachment hearing will take place again after this is all done. BTW Clinton testifying today.

He knows the CV-19 lockdown has created a lot of anxiety, including the loss of jobs and businesses.
There's a lot of pent up stress being released right now. Trump wants to make sure he does what is needed to protect as much life and property as he can until the anxiety passes. These things don't last forever.
-
There's a lot of pent up stress being released right now.
That's what you call the worst case of civil unrest the US ever faced in the last 20 years?
It's those kind of attitudes and willful ignorance that have led to the uprisings that many thousands of Americans are participating in today.
These things don't last forever.
What evidence do you have to come to such a conclusion?
Do you have the inside scope whether Trump will declare martial law?
-

....
Another factor in the rampant looting and violence are the face masks.
Since masks are the new normal, hoodlums can plunder in relative anonimity.

How about the last entire century?
The last Civil War ended over 100 years ago. Are you saying we've been under that same set of stressors ever since?
-

Other Americans have been under same stressors since that time.
If you need someone to identify them to you in light of the protests and riots that are happening, you just identified what the source of the problems are.

The American empire will definitely not be the same nor will ever heal its wounds if or when the current wave of social unrest is over.
The question now is how much longer can the country maintain national cohesion before balkanizing?
If so, watch out for a false flag attack on American soil that starts WWIII. :shake:

Are you talking about Blacks?
What happened to "the protests have nothing to do with race?"
You seem to continually contradict yourself.
