I'm building an AR and would like to support local business before ordering online.

not Aero, but Aero owns Spikes, so its pretty much the same. only difference is Aero has the tension screw.
I have both Aero and Spikes and they both mate to the lower very well

I picked up my lower from Dwayne and Danger Close. I would try and call first to see if he has any in stock.

Yeah, I've heard they're basically the same, but Aero is a much better value. AP sells complete lowers for ~200.

I bought my aero from j hara

When was that?
Bc lately they dont have that much firearm selection

Yeah, I prefer Aero. I like the tension screw and they are cheaper than Spikes
If you can find a lower locally, you should build it yourself. Its really easy.
Hard to find parts or assembled anything lately.
Aero stripped lower and lower parts kit will be around 200
Dont wait too long bc I see parts selling out fast
Good luck :shaka:

@stangzilla
I didn't know that Aero owns Spikes. I know they own Ballistic Advantage, VG6, Grey Ghost Precision, but ownership of Spikes is new news. Do you know when that happened? recent? a while ago? just curious.
I also have lowers by both. Both are GTG IMHO. purchased LGS, 5 yrs ago, in Kaneohe.

i was wrong saying they are owned by Aero. thats just what i heard around different websites, i'm a victim of online fake news. :D but after some quick research, Aero has become one of the manufacturers of Spikes lowers

this thread is from Spikes Tactical back in 2008. they list 3 different companies that make their lowers. Aero is not one of them as of 2008.
maybe Aero started making for them in 2018 or maybe before that.

thanks for the links, research. My ST from 5 yrs ago purchase does show some manufacturing differences compared to my Aero from same time period, Obummer/Hitlary panic buying years, so perhaps after 2015. I liked the bullet pictogram markings from Spikes.

I have a couple spikes and a few Aero's. no problems with either. 1 of the spikes is the color filled calico jack with the fire select saying "parley, plunder, arrrr" I thought that was pretty cool looking. the other one is the regular spikes with the spider and I did my own color fill.
I might be looking for another lower, just to have something in surplus just in case. I would get either spikes or Aero again

Not sure about complete lowers but I did buy my stripped Aero Lower from Dwayne also. Maybe call or message to see. I want to say I say a bunch of LPK in the shop when I picked up my lower if you’re open to putting together yourself.

Would be very interested to know just what REAL dimensional differences lowers from any mainstream company are these days.
Years back, did take an upper into a shop to see if there was any discernible difference between the lowers they had, as far as fit.
None, though some had that spiffy enlarged trigger housing for more $$$..........................

Henry at Prime Sports also carries Aero Precision

I picked up my Aero stripped lower from Kaneohe gun shop, but that was years ago.
To me, a lower is a lower. As long as they are decent quality. No complaints about my Aero lower. Along with BCM, LMT, Colt, etc. Don't have a Spike's, but know many who do. I actually did have a DD lower were the grip hole was out of spec and couldn't fit properly with A2 grips that came with and fit just fine with other lowers.
