Aloha kakou! After a stint in WA I will be returning to HI in the new year and I was wondering if there are any potential pitfalls in bringing my collection with me.
I have 2 ARs, one of which was purchased and registered in HI prior to my move to WA in 2015. Does this rifle stay registered, or do I have to re-register when I return?
Also, I'l be bringing some pistols with me that were purchased on the mainland, is there anything I have to do when I bring them back, i.e. register them, etc?
My pistols have standard capacity mags, so I'm, guessing I'll have to dump those prior to coming back?
Finally I just want to say that I am so proud of you all for defeating the recent mag ban.. I know that none of my mates on BI would have stood for it, so it's great to see state wide support too!
EDIT: Also I am a green card holder with a naturalization application pending. When I left HI in 2015 it was okay for permanent residents to own firearms.. I'm not sure if anything has changed on that front or not?
