Title: PSA Kokohead range
Post by: ren on July 19, 2020, 03:21:09 PM
Please be mindful when setting up your erector set target. At least practice setting it up before hitting the range with your v1.0 Range was really packed these past few weekends and the wait between relays were longer because some shooters had some marvels of engineering to setup. Couple shooters setup multiple targets. They had a dolly.
And the RO on the mic was adamant about masks. Point your muzzle at someone you get a warning and scolding. Don't wear a mask and you get kicked off the range in a heartbeat.  I was shooting on the prone side with no one else within 10 feet of me.

Thanks for the heads up.
Was the silhouette side just as crowded?

Lol I got warned on the steel side yesterday. Ceace fire I was sitting on the bench with my cousin. I pulled down my mask to drink from my flask I guess I took a little long putting it back on when I got the warning. In person not a general over the mic. Then I watched him walk back to his chair and talk to his range buddy and other r.o's........none of them wearing masks. Rules for thee and not for me. If I was the vindictive type I'd not lose wink of sleep if he got the wuhan. I heard it's devastating to the old fogies. But I'd never wish that on a hypocrite >:D

May I also add please be mindful of your flying brass...Saw a guy on Friday get hit multiple times on the head and face from the person on the bench next to him.

Aa someone who shoots 99% prone. I totally agree. The RO def need to be better about enforcing this. Its quite obvious, AR or repeater rifle without a brass catcher or blocker, theres a 99% chance the dude next to him will get hit.

Silhouette side was pretty crowded. I think it was worse last week. I was told that if you were the shooter and shooting you didn't have to wear the mask. Glasses fog. Cheek slides off gun. But according to the head rifle RO on the mic - masks must be worn at all times...unless of course you're an RO. I think this mask mandate is a bit of a stretch especially in an outdoor, open air, sunny environment. A couple weeks ago, I was sitting all by lonesome in the middle of the park under a tree - waiting for my time slot to come up when a Fu Manchu looking instructor and 6 of his students came to sit on the same table as I. Eventually I got up and left; well you know - social distancing.
