Hah!
I got a notice from HPD that my appointment for registration at HPD for Monday was cancelled due to Doug
Appointments for registration are booked out 90 days.
I’ll try calling on Monday since my permit is only good till 8/3/2020

It's not like HPD won't be on the clock tomorrow and the storm should be NW of Kauai. But then again I think the system is gamed. Stay safe everybody...

You should just show up as scheduled ("What cancellation notice?")
If the weather is fine, then the justification for cancellations is invalid. They should take you at your appointed time.
Worth a shot.

That sucks! They should accommodate you sometime during the week. It’s not like they don’t have the time or cancellations. I agree with Flap...show up and see what happens or go in the next day... ;)

That's fkd up, so whoever had an appointment for tomorrow now has to try and make another appointment which are all booked up 3 months in advance?
-
Not a real big deal if I can’t register my pistol tomorrow. As long they will still honor my “expired” permit 3-4 months from now.
I rarely go to the silhouette range or pistol range because I’m a lousy shot
If hpd honors an expired permit, the pistol can wait till I get another registration date since hpd messed up on my longarm permit this past Friday
After I get the longarm permit in two weeks, I’ll try to register the pistol the same time as the rifles and avoid an extra trip to HPD just to register one pistol

Well, I guess DO NOT show up at HPD tomorrow.
It's a new state holiday.
Happy Douglas Day!!
HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - State offices, courts, and University of Hawaii campuses
will be closed on Oahu and Kauai on Monday, the governor announced.
City offices on Oahu and county offices on Kauai will also be closed Monday.
Only designated response workers will need to report to work.
“Out of concern and an abundance of caution for our employees and the public, we’re closing our
offices tomorrow,” Caldwell said. “The first priority is to protect the lives of yourself and your family.
Please secure all loose items outside your home, and stay inside.”

"The first priority is to protect the lives of yourself and your family."
Unless, of course, that involves the use of a firearm. Then you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Is all that worth it?

I emailed Jasmine to see if I can walk in this week to register my pistol

Just got word from HPD. No accommodations for cancelled appointments. Need to reapply.

Same here
“Sorry, you have to reapply for a registration appointment. Cannot walk in”
But they will let me walk in to initial a medical form that I had to resubmit because they didn’t do my long gun permit :-)

Just got back from HPD to pick up my permit. One female asked if she could get in cause her appointment Monday was cancelled due to the Hurricane. They let her in and completed the transaction.

Chief Ballard conspired with oil companies to pollute the world so we would have more hurricanes and she could cancel registration and permit appointments.

Hurricanes have been fewer and less severe since the supposed Global Warming/Climate Change BS started. No evidence to support the myth that man-made pollution somehow worsens weather and that it's tied to Climate Change. Two different topics.
