I think they are targeting certain businesses. In today's briefing to the citizens, Dr. Miskovich stated that Honolulu Hale is OK as far as the virus is concerned because it is open air. With that said, public parks and beaches are larger "open air" spaces than Honolulu Hale - So why are they closed while the Hale is still open?

I wonder if any of the decision-makers have rental properties with out-of-work tenants?

If the mortgage payments had to come out of their own pockets instead of the renters', they'd be screaming for the economy to reopen.

This.

If people weren’t so cushy at home with there $1200 dollar a week unemployment checks they’d be picketing outside of the capitol to re open this economy

I'm a "landlord" and I hate it.
I think everyone should own their own home.
But not at my expense.  They should earn it.

I’m also a landlord and my tenants haven’t paid rent since March. Lucky for me their lease is up on 9/1 and I will not renew it. They have been late with the Rent on numerous occasions and have Even skipped a couple of months. Felt sorry for them because they have two kids but no more. I’ve carried them long enough. My lawyer advised me that I’m well within my rights to have them move so I can have the place remodeled. After that it’s up for sale. I’m finished!

That sounds more than generous.

My aunt in VA has a second/guest house. Her tenant took in a friend maybe a year ago. The tenant and friend had a falling out and had been living in the property without paying for months. Just as they were about to get a judge to rule on the eviction, VA set a moratorium on evictions. What a crock. Where a squatter is deemed to have more rights than the property owner.

I've been lucky.  My renters in Virginia have been on time every month this year.  There have been a couple of late months in the past, but at least they catch up quickly.

I think they've been in the house for over 3 years now.  So, far, they are my 2nd best renters since 1993.  The 2 or 3 before them were deadbeats and left while still a few months behind.

Got lucky.  Otherwise, taking the mortgage payment out of my own pocket would be a real problem now.
