When are WE going to "peacefully protest" and March on City Hall to demand our handgun high cap mags, unconstitutional registration of our firearms, concealed carry and open carry?

It’s only a 3 judge panel - most experts believe the CA AG will file a motion and argue the case to be heard en-banc. The CA AG has a right to appeal a decision as we would have had if the decision had gone against us.

Why? Are we too lazy?
Too disorganized as a firearm community as a whole to make a difference.
A bunch of folks on here go every year during normal times.
Just can’t seem to get all the coalitions and clubs to mesh together for a cause and show some real numbers.

I am involved with, and am friends with folks in various groups. I've tried to link them up, be a bridge to coordinate, etc in the past. I've given up. Too many hard headed people, conflicting personalities, "we're good on our own", etc type issues. I will still be involved, but attend and support the individual efforts as I can.
So many here look for people to lead, even some saying that "once they get to lead, that they'll get everyone in line". Again, while I applaud those efforts and "can do" attitude, I haven't seen many of those posts of late as I assume they've experienced the same brick walls that I did.
However, leadership in a few groups have changed, so maybe things can change moving forward.

You motivate people better by positive incentives versus negative.
If every event is in response to a new bill or overreach by the Gov't/HPD, that's by definition using a negative to push people to action. "You better show up, or else something bad will happen." Or, has happened, and needs to be reversed.
If the individuals and groups had a positive incentive to join a 2A-protection group, you'd see more people joining and attending events.
For example, if membership included perks (gun shop discounts, monthly sales for members only, maybe even a handgun giveaway -- without it being a "raffle", of course  ), you'd definitely see more people joining, Once the people are part of the group, you have a chance to inform them on what's happening and how to participate. If they see no real benefit to joining "yet another gun group", then nothing changes.
A carrot, not a stick.
Just my 2.9 cents. :geekdanc:

Wow Flapp that was actually a very useful suggestion. Is it really you? ???
-
Hifico had a gun giveaway a couple years ago.
I tried to get more people into this forum by giving away stuff that was graciously donated to the cause.
I still have quite a bit of merchandise left. I should get off my butt and start that up again.
-
I think the bigger problem is that we have a local govt that is authoritarian during this "pandemic"
-
If you want to get involved in the fight join up with https://hifico.org/
I've been to the capital with them multiple times shaking the cages. We're getting more participants every time.
-
I agree, hifico has my support and has been the most active in the fight. I just renewed my membership today. Maybe regular meetings would help, its easy to do Zoom calls.
-
I think the positive incentive is a good idea and could work. Need buy-in from businesses, at least those with credibility remaining for ability to follow through.
"Good idea fairies" are great, but also need the "follow-through humans" to see things through. Easy to be the former, but a lot more time, effort, etc to be the latter. That's not meant to be negative criticism. Again, I do applaud the efforts, all "good idea fairies", etc and I am certainly willing to contribute where I can. Just not enough "follow-through" humans in my experience.

Flapp good comments
Yes I just renewed my membership again with Hifico. So trying to do my little part

Whenever I don't hear from HIFICO leadership I rest comfortably in my bed because I know they're filing another lawsuit with my dues money. They have multiple meetings prior to the legislative session opening. Featuring good food, good people, good presentations, and a little doom and gloom and a little sunshine up your ass for taking the fight to the capitol. I'd recommend coming to anyone who hasn't attended.

Thanks. I'll take a compliment, even when it's wrapped in a slam.

One individual giving away things is a great gesture, but it really needs to be more of an organizational effort. If you are the arbiter of who wins, it kind of segregates the prize from the group.
Just my perception. Not sure if that is how new members see it.

My purpose for forming HIFICO really isn't to win gun rights battles. Instead our purpose is to change attitudes and unite the community, basically starting all over to build a good foundation. That is extremely difficult, costly and time consuming. I knew it would be a big challenge, and even then it's still a bigger challenge than I thought. Once that's done, then winning gun rights battles will come on it's own.
It's been slow as I've been recouperating. November - April is extremely stressful and I'm burned out so take a few months off. I'm still working behind the scenes strategizing for next year, making contacts, setting up lawsuits, etc. I'm currently working on the training aspect. Getting the Ayoob and ASP class setup for next year and helping the women's gun group to get started. I work in the background, Andrew takes care of the front.

Almost all of the anti-gun legislation is with the State government which is why I focus on the Capitol. City is responsible for shooting ranges and zoning issues and ordinances like replica guns. The Chief is responsible for CCW, but they're an independent agency and the position is not elected so a march by itself wouldn't do much. You could combine a march into a public relations thing if violent crime skyrockets and the march is used to educate the public about CCW.
Getting rid of registration would be very difficult, much more difficult than getting CCW and at about the level of legalizing machine guns here. It's way out there on the radar. CCW and open carry first.

We're working on getting to be more proactive and positive. It's difficult at the beginning and you have to focus on the negative at first to get people out. Don't let a good tragedy go to waste.
For other clubs, membership perks work. However HIFICO is different and has a more serious attitude. We look back in history at the founding where people lost their limbs and their lives, lost all their property, and spent years away from their families in the fight for independence and rights. I don't think anyone can truly appreciate that sacrifice nor relate to that nowadays. A lot of people don't want to spend a few hours a year working on gun rights. Part of HIFICO's mission is to promote those attitudes and values.

lost all their property,
My father's 3 handguns were confiscated because when he moved back home from Texas 10 years ago he just had open heart surgery and he didn't know the laws so they remained unregistered until I moved back home from Australia a couple years ago and there was a family dispute with my sister who's a raging bull Karen and I got my Colt 1911A1 back from my dad and she saw me with it and called the police thinking i stole it. The police came and confiscated it and gave me a police report but was never indicted and the statute of limitations expired this January 2020 and I'd like help or a referral to a lawyer or someone who can get it back for me.

This is messed up! It should be just a fine. Pay it and you should be able to get it back. Do you have all the right documents? Hunters Ed, permit to acquire, etc...? If you don’t then I doubt they will give it back. But if you do? Then seek legal help? Good luck!

If the statute of limitations expired before any charges were filed, then there should be no problem getting the property returned.
Try to work with HPD first to apply for a permit and have the property returned when it's issued. If they say they need a court order, filing a motion based on the time limit expiring should be child's play.

Great advice! I don't know why people here troll you, brah. You've been nothing but helpful and knowledgeable to my posts.
I asked HIFICO for help and was denied when my rights were clearly violated.
Big ups, brah. Mahalo!

We don’t troll him.
He brings it on himself.
With his misdirection, childish insults, inability to answer a direct question during a discussion and superiority complex.
He’s super good at google though and actually, quite often, helpful in many circumstances. I tip my hat to that.
Just don’t disagree with him or have an opinion other than his.
Oh, and he’s also easily triggered so it’s kind of good fun.
P.S.
You are aware he’s had 4 user names since joining this forum.
Moosed
Mauidog
DarmokatJalad
FlappJackson
Who needs to change their forum identity 4 times ? (Here we go...)
(I wouldn’t have said anything if you didn’t make that trolling comment Phazuka. Thought I should respond.)

Thanks!
Part of the trolling is just mob mentality. Some pile on when one person starts in. I guess they have nothing better to do.
Doesn't bother me much. They are just trying to get a reaction from me to make them feel better about themselves. Typical troll behavior. :geekdanc:  :shaka:
