Title: show us your steel target stand
Post by: stangzilla on September 14, 2020, 02:01:05 PM
I've made a few different versions
first one was just hanging from the bottom of my rifle target stand, but the splash from the bullet shredded the wood real quick
second one I made from galvanized water pipe.  that one is still going after a few years of use.

these are my latest.  1st one is from ebay for about $60 not including chain and targets.   targets are 10"x1/2" and 6"x1/2"

second one is made with 2x4's and bracket from ebay. brackets were about 20 and wood is all 4 foot lengths.  targets are 3, 4, 5, and 6" x 1/4".  this will be for pistol use

Last time I checked, there are only 3 main rules:

1.  Targets placed on the 50 yard line can only be shot with .22 caliber firearms (or smaller);  All other calibers have to be 100 yards out.

2.  Targets must be suspended in a way that allows them to swing freely;

3. Targets must be composed of appropriate steel to reduce the possibly of the target being damaged and becoming shrapnel or causing ricochets.
