As far as who to vote for mayor I'll just share what I plan to do.

I'm going to vote for Blangiardi.

I'm irritated that he seldom commits to what he actually would want to do as mayor and just spews out the usual generic bullshit about change and yada yada....

But he said one thing.  About how it would take many talented and committed people working together with him to get things done.  To me this implies he will shake up city hall and make replacements in key positions if he has to.  About how he is a leader.  About how he will serve Democrat, Republicans, and Independents all the same.

Blangiardi not worried about satisfying the status quo.

The Democrat Amemiya (lol!!) does......... :shaka:

steam it open

Mayor is a no-brainer for me.
Previously, I worked for Rick and he was a good guy to work for.
He treated me and my coworkers honestly and fairly.
But if you are a screw up you are history...adios baby

This is what I want for my mayor.  A CEO.  Not a politician.

I tried steam open but it's glued shut.  As long as my vote for president is counted, I don't care about the mayor vote.

Will my ballot be counted?

I don't see why not.  I believe the machines register all "proper" marks.  Like fully filled, not all outside, or multiple votes where you can only vote for one.  I leave spots blank all the time.  Have to be careful though, some of those votes for measures count blanks as  a "NO" vote (or at least used to).

I guess why do you believe your vote won't be counted.

You can request a replacement ballot online:

https://www.honolulu.gov/elections/voting/mail-ballots.html

However, before you do, you should call first.  Describe the problem, and they'll tell you the best way to remedy it.

It might be 100% okay to open the envelopes and reseal them, or they might need to mail you new ones.

Let the Board of Elections make the decision.

I know how competent government workers can be.  If I was calling, I'd record the call ..... "for quality assurance."   :geekdanc:

I was going to suggest you get a replacement as well, but going to vote in person prob your best bet.  Don't "f--- up" this time.   ;D

I didn't know that was an option?!

Looked it up, only Kapolei and Honolulu Hale. Parking kinda sucks for Honolulu Hale though.

If you're voting Republican, walk-in voting is available on Nov 3rd.  All other parties vote Nov 4th.

Mark your calendar!

I noticed when I filled mine out there was a number to call on the ballot to request a replacement if you messed one up. You have time, give them a call.

What? Can't tell whether you are being serious or joking. That doesn't make any sense.

I'm serious.  It' a COVID-19 social distancing process.  Spreads out voting across 2 days versus everyone bunching up all at once.
