The mosin has recently caught my interest. Has anybody seen one offered for sale by any of our local gun store?
-
Both OGC and Gun Source had a Mosin rifle recently, around $150 give or take.
-
I thought I saw one at ogc a long time ago. Not sure if Carter brings em in regularly. After shipping there's probably not much profit unless it's marked up pretty well.
-
I saw one at Security just a couple of days ago.
-
I just got one from OGC about three weeks ago for $150. As far s I am tracking they had plenty more in stock because a customer asked how many they had and Dan's response was "how many do you need?".
-
X-Ring got some Octagon reciever M-N in stock
-
Are you looking for the rifle or the carbine version?

Are the ones on island the Russia or Chinese ones? I want one but how can I be sure they are safe to shoot being that it maybe 100 years old. How expensive is it to shoot these guns, are the rounds still available?
-
There's surplus ammo for it and carter and kgs sell the ammo.
If you purchasing from a store I'm sure they inspected it but its always good to double check with them.
X ring has 91/30 on their wall. Not sure on the price.
And I took my M44 down and Brian looked over it and told me I shouldn't have any problems firing it.

I'm still considering ordering one, although not locally. Just need to go down to the police department to get my long gun permit for the Foundation. We just picked up our C&R FFL not too long ago.
-
I'm looking for a cheap older long rife with some power. I'm just starting my Mosian research any tips what to look for?
-
Octagon Reciever M91/30 More desired collectable because fewer were made and more care went into making them.
Lug race not cut through
Inner receiver ring
Extra notch at stripper clip guide
All future Mosin receivers are round and no hex receivers are known to have been produced after 1936.
The ones we have are VG+ and are $199.95
-
7.62x54r.net has a lot of good information on mosin rifles. I use it a lot when looking for Finnish mosin.

Anyone seen one thats for sale on island as of late with all the accessories in hex or m44?
-
They are mule kickers. I would recommend a rubber add on butt plate. Not so accurate, but plenty of power for anything you will run into. What are you looking for? I have many, M44, 91/30, M28 ect.

Ah man, now you gonna have to post pics.... MOSINS are cheap, powerful and most important FUN! They kick like a mule and every other animal that kicks hard under the sun and the moon...
Mine has more of a straight back type kick with almost no muzzle rise..... Oh yeah, and with the mother of all FIREBALLS! At least my M44 does...
Gives you that "manly bruise" between the shoulder and pectorial at the end of the day...Priceless
-
Interesting, I just bought one earlier this week (91/30). For the price I said what the heck. I have desires to atleast convert it (adding a PU Scope). Is it worth it? Maybe or maybe not. Either way it's a cheap gun, so what the heck.
-
ya they are cheap. I recommend getting an 03 FFL ~ 30.00 and then you can mail order them for like 89.00 + SH. They are cheap so buy 4 at a time. :-)

Because the surplus ammo (440rds/$125) and rifle ($100) are so cheap, it is now my favorite rifle to shoot.

This is why I love AK's so much.
$249 for 1000 rounds of pow pow
-
Are we seeing $125 for 440 rds locally? I want some!
Aloha
-
OGC has them in spam cans when they pick up surplus ammo. Thats what they had last sale. Cant say for sure the price. Try check the OGC threads.
-
Thanx
will do
-
I think OGC's last sale was in the 440/$150 range if i'm not mistaken. 440 was sold at a recent gun show for $125. Mainland prices are in the $80 range but you can't ship it to hawaii so you are essentially stuck with local offerings.
-
80.00 here on the mainland is expensive. I have gotten it got 67.00 a spam can or 120.00 a case. I guess that is the price you pay for nice weather. :P

wow what state do you live in? my friends been in arizona going to gunshows and gunshops for a week now and the best price he could find was 880 for $150 or 440 for $79.
does anyone know of any local gun shops with non milsurp 7.62x54r? i bought a silverbear 170gr 500rd case from security equipment for $249 and saw that gunsource has brownbears for $15 a box. looking for anything different, preferably soft points.
-
Ogc has it listed on their white board, I think it varies though depending on supply. Non mill surplus.
I also recall seeing it online for kgs.
-
Mail order is the way to go IMHO. I never find anything in the ball park locally, expect 5.45 X 39 which goes on sale for 140 + tax once in a while.

Yo micro is it worth it after all the fees and stuff? I've tried pricing stuff before and shipping comes out more then my total.
-
Maybe so to HI. Shipping is usually like 28-30.00 to MN so I am sure it is way more down there. A spam can lasts a long time. I usually cry uncle after 100 or so.
-
Oh Rajah. Thought you was in the Hi too. Shoots man.
Ogc is usually the cheapest we see to mainland prices with shipping.
-
Ya sorry. The shipping is going to be the killer part on Ammo. After shooting surplus ammo, make sure to use some windex with ammonia to clean bore and bolt prior to leaving the range and then clean as normal when you get home and you will be fine.

I picked up a Mosin Nagant in mint condition from X-Ring for two hundred bucks.....I know I could have gotten it a bit cheaper elsewhere...but hey due to the current scenarios taking place throughout the firearms industry, I'm pleased with my purchase.

Really nice!

Well you can put a bayonet on it so under the proposed bill all it needs is one characteristic to be classified as "assualt rifle" Shit can't win with those gun grabbers :wtf:
-
Sweet! Pick up some surplus ammo spam cans and you are set. You might want to get a recoil pad as well. I have these and they make all the difference, else massive shoulder bruise

I wish there was more of the good ol' stuff around.
Would be nice to find a clean 1903 and/or K98

k98's are awesome but the ammo. That ammo is hard to find even on the mainland.

Yes, I know they're expensive, they haven't been made since the 1940s and the prices will only go up.....
