Title: HTTP 500 error
Post by: 6716J on October 27, 2020, 07:19:47 AM
Anyone else getting this when using Chrome or Windows Explorer?

I can get to the main board but when trying to go to a sub board I get the error message(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201027/67973864bb3ac45eba1f29857659f634.jpg)

I can't get much other than the homepage of topics.  Tried Brave, Safari,  Firefox and Chrome.   Can't view messages, my own profile or threads.

Needed to download TPTalk.  Of course, Google Play removed Tapatalk, and the new version could take days to approve for downloading.  Used the mirror site APKMirror.com.

FUBAR.

YAY it works again.
I was getting paranoid. Already got plenty tin foil in the pantry just in case.

Suppose this 2A site was targeted for extinction by the dark side.
Perhaps we should designate an alternate method of disseminating information.
Like a rally point during an emergency situation.

Lol I thought yall went the extra mile and banned me.  Figured it out wasn't the case after trying few different ips. And Google bot system could reach this site so it must likely was a web server issue.

If anyone has access to the SMF Admin interface, or if you just have access to the server O/S through a control panel or SSH, you can set Maintenance Mode on.  You can also edit the message people see when they try to access the site.

This is very useful if the site is unexpectedly down, or if you need to perform maintenance for some reason.  Letting everyone know the site is being managed, and whether there's an anticipated time for return to normal service, is a routine courtesy every website should extend to its users.

Not knowing what's going on and whether someone is working the problem is often worse than the problem itself.

Glad it's working again. Does 2aHawaii have a facebook group? That could be a decent alternative in case something like this happens again.
