Title: Detailed handgun stripping tools

Eventually I'll need some tools to fully takedown my pistol but where can I get the tools? So far I've seen picks, punches and mini mallets. Can these be bought at the local gun stores or something I'll find at Lowes or Home Depot?

Are they sold as a kit or do I need to buy them separately and are they made specifically for firearms or are they just random stuff put together?

If you want online, then look at Midway, Brownells, & Natchez to start. 

Other than that, you might have some issue finding brass punches, but should be able to find steel punches down here.  Not sure how successful you would be finding small brass hammers.

I sometimes find random tools that work for gun cleaning.

If you find it from Harbor Freight or somewhere else, you might be able to get it for up to 40% less..

I found that the best cleaning tools for an AR-15 are the standard GI cleaning kit and a pocketknife. Run her wet then let the parts dry, chipping off chunks of carbon afterward. Afterward, a can of brake cleaner will get the impossible to reach areas.

I hate Caldwell.  Cheap stuff and they fall apart like it too.  Only thing I like that's Caldwell are their shooting bags, because they are cheap and unlikely to fall apart. Wheeler ain't all that much better.  Stay away from those combo hammers (brass/plastic on the head).  Pay once.

I got all my stuff from home depot. I think I found the punches at sears.
