Aloha Everyone;
This goes out to all the Hunters out there. 2020 has been a tough year for us. Trying to fly inter-island especially now Lana’I shutting down there are few options for us. I would like to bring to your attention Kaluakoi Outfitters https://kaluakoioutfitters.com/ I have done two trips with them and highly recommend you check them out. We all know of the challenges of running a business in Hawaii and they are doing it on Moloka’I which has its own unique characteristics. The rates are very reasonable. I promise you they will get you on game and then it is up to you and your skills to make it happen and close the deal. You can have them debone it or you can do it yourself. They are awesome and extremely friendly and helpful. You get access to over 1500 acres of private land hunting. It is just you and your group. You can even do it yourself and the guide. Right now you need to get a COVID19 test before you can travel to Moloka’I. However, there are several options for inter-island COVID19 travel testing. I promise you; you will not be disappointed. :shaka: :thumbsup:

I was born and raised on Moloka’i. I knew Nobu Shimizu. My friends and I used to hunt several times a month when we were in high school. Sadly, hunting is very expensive now. More than what the average person can afford.

I understand it has become expensive. Even the public hunting on Lana'i with lodging and transportation if is also $$$$. From My experience with Kuluakoi they are doing there best to properly manage the land and herds in the area they also help to make sure you have a clean shot so it is effective and the animal does not suffer..

Did not see price, how much they charging?

I believe it is $800 for a single hunt $700 each for two and $600 each for three or more. it is for two animals and includes lodging and transportation to and form the airport.
With Lodging and transportation on Lanai I find the price is really fair. I have been on hunts on Lanai where we have skunked. With Kaluakoi it is almost guaranteed and the deboning and processing there is a lot better then on Lanai. The other thing they have is a long distance Range. You can shoot up to 600 yards if you like. As far as I am aware on Oahu except for on military bases the longest range we have is 100 yards at Koko head.

just for clafirication if you have 3 hunters each can harvest 2 so that is 6 all together.

In high school in the late 1960s, I used to sell a whole deer, field dressed for $10. Min wage was $1.40 so that was big money for me, especially when you got 2 or 3. One time I shot 7.
