Title: PMCS Mags
Post by: changemyoil66 on December 23, 2020, 06:26:00 PM
Had a few mags not locking the slide back. Like 1 of 12 racks and another 1 of 18 racks.

Bought some replacement springs and problem solved. Cheap to replace. About $7 each.

New springs were about half inch longer than the old ones.

Assuming this about the AR, a spring is pushing in opposition to another spring, so opposing force is the key.

Just recently read in a book about AR-smithing that the 20 rd mags have lighter springs than the 30.  Also the feed lips of the GI-spec 30 are stronger to deal with the added pressure.

Logic would imply that the emtpy 20 and 30 magazines should have roughly the same spring pressure to push the bolt catch up.
