Q mentioned 12 days of darkness a while ago. Many thought power or phone comma gone.
What if it was about social media and tech censoring. To day is the 8th, 12 days from now is the 20th.
Trump banned on twitter, fb, ig, etc...many conservatives and reporters banned. Apple removing parlor from its app store cause that was a site censored conservatives were going to.
Now we see why section 230 was so important to be removed from the defense/stimulus bill. And why lawmakers kept it in.

Trump wanted Sec 230 totally done away with. That's a really bad idea, as smaller and independent journalists would never be able to compete with the giants.
Without platform protections, everybody would be suing the only real journalists left out of existence.
What needs to happen is for Congress and the FCC to create more explicit definitions and criteria of behavior that treats Big Tech like the publishers and editors they are, and still protect the free and open platforms with immunity from lawsuits.

Hey changeoil, parler and parlor are still available on the app store. Just fyi

If a journalist doesnt censor people, then they are protected. So would 230 still apply?

Censorship is not part of the Sec 230 criteria. It has to do with "freedom to post" versus "exercising editorial discretion" over the content.
They can delete comments and block people based on terms of service violations. The issue is they seem to "accidentally" block conservative users and delete their posts then days later apologize for the "error". Never happens to Liberals. So far, neither FB nor Twitter have been able to name a single high-profile Liberal user who's been treated the same as Conservatives. If these were truly errors and accidents, the incidents would be roughly distributed evenly among all political spectrums.
That's the issue -- political bias and lopsided enforcement of their own policies. Even when they come back and admit they blocked someone without good reason, the damage has been done and is irreversible. Social media requires immediate interaction when a situation or issue is trending. Days later, the interactions with other users on those topics is a fraction of what it would have been, and that equates to lost revenue for the maligned Conservative members.
So, in short, they can't favor one political party or ideology and continually block the opposing party and claim they are not publishers. They are exercising editorial discretion based on political bias -- nothing else.

"Parler" is the French word for "Talk" or "Speak." The French pronounce it "Par-lay", like in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl.
Anyway, that's the origin of the website's name.
Noting complaints that Parler was used to coordinate the 2021 storming of the United States Capitol,
Apple informed Parler executives on January 8, 2021 that its mobile app would be removed from the
App Store within 24 hours if Parler did not improve its moderation policy.[34][35] Parler was removed
from the Google Play Store on the same day.
Funny how reports of ANTIFA using SM sites to coordinate their violence never resulted in SM apps from being taken down.
This is just an excuse to hurt the smaller SM platforms while protecting Big Tech.

I did not realize they are using Amazon servers, so even if you install the APK the deep state could still wipe them out completely

Not just the journalists either. Even Yelp would be in trouble, they could get sued every time a user made a bad review of a company. The repercussions go beyond just social media.
-
Doesn’t it seem a bit convenient that this “siege of the capitol” gave big tech the full go ahead to ban prominent conservatives? ???
-
Can download parler app from their website. Scroll to the bottom and select the apple or droid icon.

Trump has a well-documented negotiation tactic of stepping way over the line and then retreating to what he actually wanted in the first place. I am going to miss that guy and we will all be very lucky if he is still around to run in 2024

Once the Democrats get done, there won't be any elections in 2024.
Won't be needed since there will only be one party, just like Hawaii.
I may join Kuleana's nation.

Trump needed to see who would abandon him in a crisis. Now he knows who is the swamp and they just committed the finale act of TREASON and it's all documented in the chamber of Congress.
Trump is still around as he did not concede contrary to what the Fake News media is saying. Buckle up because the next two weeks will be a doozie! Enjoy the show!

Unfortunately, the nation is not ready yet.
Too many Hawaiian holdovers indoctrinated with the two-cheeks-of the-same-okole US imperial political party system as well as too many would-be kings vying for a throne, of a outdated form of government. The Rule-of-Divine-Right has long since been over, as empires.
Getting ready to huli those brainwashed into Kilauea, next time I am on the Big Island. :shaka:

Many Hawaiians got to realize, those Hawaiians, who are allowed to the political arena (e.g., Akaka) or high levels of public service (e.g., Kealoha), are all corrupt and serve as puppets, of the US empire, to keep the rest of the Hawaiians under control.
-
Trump support grew significantly in West and Central Oahu this time around. He also swept Niihau. I think what we are seeing is the Hawaiians connected with the University and swimming in government grants are more likely to vote blue and keep up the status quo while the lifted pickup truck kanakas who are being forced to move to vegas by gentrification are another story entirely.
