I got a call from a Lieutenant in the Firearms Division because I had too many appointments for pta and registration. The officer said because of the complaints of not being able to get an appointment, no shows, people selling appointments, etc..., they will allow two appointments for pta and two appointments for registration per person for each month. The officer was really cool about it and told be to cancel any excess appointments I have. He said there are a lot of people flagged.

Did they state if you can give them away or transfer the names to other people?

I imagine this might cause gun shops who sit on reservations for new buyers to rethink their tactics.

One gun shop recently charged my friend 6-months of storage fees plus the ffl fee for a gunbroker purchase. They even post on their website that they won't charge for the first 90 days but with charge a storage fee after 90 days have elapsed. My friend didn't know about the lax registration timelines during covid and thought he had to register the rifle within 5-days of picking it up. The gun shop either followed along with him or is holding people to the 5-day window to make $ off storage fees.

If the shop kept the gun in storage after telling the buyer they must register within 5 days of pickup, they defrauded the customer. I'd be demanding the storage fees back.
The 5 days was waived when the reservation system started. The buyer should have checked on this themselves, but the gun shop has no excuse. They are required to know the law as well as the COVID registration waiver.
Predatory business practices.

I specifically asked you not to do that...

I asked the officer if they were going to cancel the excess appointments and he said he will leave that up to me so I did transfer to people I know. As of this week, I had a registration appointment every week and a pta appointment about every week. I think what they are doing is a good thing.

Yes you did. Did you notice I got flagged about 90 days after your post?
