Title: wood/ laminate stocks and furniture polishing
Post by: Bigkahuna808 on August 10, 2012, 01:08:51 PM
What are you folks using to keep those stocks nice and glossy.
I read online people using
Fritz metal polish...I'm hesitant about this
Meguiars scratch x and bees wax
Howard's feed and wax from home depot
Linseed oil

I'm leaning to Howard to shine and gloss my laminate stock.

Linseed oil is the old school method.  It works but messy.  Old English Linseed Oil is the best if you can find it.

Tried the Howard's feed and wax tonite.  2 coats.  It seemed very shinny when applied then when I buffed it out with a microfiber cloth the Kurt went away.  Did I do something wrong in application?  Should I have used a non scratch scouring pad rubbed down the stock first then apply the Howard's.
Will post some pics of the sunshine on the gun tomorrow.  I've been working on trying to get a almost mirror finish obo the barrel as well.
