Biden to unveil long-awaited executive action on guns
President Joe Biden is expected to unveil a long-awaited package of executive actions to curb gun violence Thursday at the White House, according to four people familiar with the plan.
The announcement comes nearly three months into Biden’s term in office, a delay that had frustrated activists who wanted the president to fulfill a campaign pledge to take action on gun violence on his first day in office. That frustration only grew after a slate of mass shootings in Colorado, Georgia and California.
Biden will direct the administration to begin the process of requiring buyers of so-called ghost guns — homemade or makeshift firearms that lack serial numbers — to undergo background checks, according to three people who have spoken to the White House about the plans. He is expected to be joined at the event by Attorney General Merrick Garland.

Very curious on the legality of this. And how it would work, under which law is it based on too.
-
80% becomes 79%; problem solved. If it's not a gun, then why do you need a background check.....

Same goes with ammo over 1K rounds and needing a background check. 999 per case now.

Due to the illegal voting law changes that allowed the Dems to cheat in the election.

Biden speech this morning-
"No amendment to the Constitution is absolute. You can't yell 'fire' in a crowded movie theater and call it freedom of speech. From the beginning, you couldn't own any weapon you wanted to own."
you can see Obama's lips moving while Joe is talking.

Psaki Confirms Biden Speaks to Obama Regularly, Says It’s No One’s Business What They Talk About
My opinion is that it is our business if they are discussing public policy. But in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t really matter because based on the policies of this administration and how similar most of them are to the Obama administration I would think we know what they are talking about.

Even if its public policy, its not really our business. Nothing says a president can't get advice from others...

Is that your opinion or are you stating a fact?
-
Politicians are representatives OF THE PEOPLE! Yes, their dealings on public policy or anything that affects WE THE PEOPLE are our business. People shouldn't need to be reminded of that.
Sigh. . .
-
Mr. and Mrs. America, turn 'em all in!

Both.

Politicians are representatives OF THE PEOPLE WHO ALSO BELIEVE IN THEIR SAME AGENDA. There fixed it.

Politicians still get privacy. We don't record all conversations of them. If they are having legal private conversations, during private time, it is none of our business. If they are doing official work, then there are less expectations of privacy. If Biden consults Obama on policy matters, thats 100% within his prerogative. All presidents consult others before making decisions. Its why they have staff and experts.

I disagree, whether you agree with them or not they represent you.

Both.
Care to elaborate or are you going to be obtuse?

I firmly believe every Democrat in America should set an example to Americans
and give up their guns and ammo. Then to swear an oath to forsake all
violence and use of any firearms or weapons anywhere, anytime.
I'm sure that will impress Americans.

Then I think you are confused. If they are on our time they are working and their conversations are documented and/or recorded. Whatever they discuss is the business of the people. If they are off work then I don’t care what they discuss. The only time we don’t get to know what they talk about is when they discuss national security measures. And even then we still get to know all or part of what they discuss. So either way, no matter what they discuss, as long as it is the business of the people, we get to know through FOIA requests because all discussions are documented and/or recorded.

True or False:
Question 1: The United States is 3rd in murders throughout the world. But if you take out just 5 'left-wing' cities:Chicago, Detroit, Washington DC, St Louis and New Orleans--the United States is 4th from the bottom, in the ENTIRE world, for murders.
Question 2: These 5 cities are controlled by Democrats. They also have the toughest gun control laws in the USA.
Question 3: It would be absurd to draw any conclusions from this data, right?
-

But said cities get guns from next door that have looser gun laws, but yet said cities don't have high murder rates...must be a social economical thing then and not a gun thing.

I just thought of that scene with Mr. Hand and Sean Penn that movie about school, Fast Times at Richmond High I think is the title. "Our time".

My conclusion is where you have a large black population you are going to have a lot of crime.
-
Even if its public policy, its not really our business. Nothing says a president can't get advice from others...
Biden hasn't had an original thought in decades. It has been demonstrated throughout his career as he's resorted to plagiarizing other people's words again and again.
It's a given that he's parroting someone else's ideas on gun control, since he is mentally defective and relies on others to tell him everything. Look at how ineffective his efforts were when Obama tasked him to come up with gun control measures after Sandy Hook. Have those efforts been touted as having saved a single life, stopped a single mass shooting, or prevented a single gun crime? That's what we expect from Sleepy Joe -- do-nothing, feel-good waste of taxpayer money.
While nothing says a president can't get advice, that's different than being led around by the nose to do others' bidding.
-

My conclusion is, where you have a large population in which the government has displaced the father in many families, you're going to have a lot of poverty.
Poverty, not race, is the underlying factor.

Technically a president could " led around by the nose to do others' bidding". I honestly don't mind the current situation. Biden is seeking advice from "experts" on things. This is a good thing. I did not like how Trump ran the office of only making "rash" decisions from his own mind and ignoring his advisors.

She pretty much doesn't answer the questions. Refer to scene from The Campaign and end every answer with "God bless the troops".

Once again, you have to do a FOIA request.
-
If the Deep State handlers of senile and thoroughly corrupt Not-President Biden want to kick off a homegrown insurrection this is a great way to start
-
Once again, you have to do a FOIA request.
On a side note, a FOIA was done here on RAPBACK and about 95% of the emails were redacted. All you saw where the dates. But in the end the FBI said that they were not aware of RAPBACK for gun owners. Which means even though HI gun owners paid $42.50, no one was enrolled.

The FOIA requests almost always results in a lawsuit. Mostly because of the government refusing to give up the documents or because of over redaction. And almost always we win over the government. So whoever did the FOIA request should have sued to have he judge review the redactions. 9 times out of 10 the redactions were not justified.
-
I dont think Biden has to do much. The Firat Amendment is trampled on with mask mandates. The media paints the gun problem as an epidemic synonomously with a pandemic and the People have largely complied with govt orders for over a year without questioning freedoms or rights. All the govt has to do is initiate some kind of mandate to turn in guns and to report on your neighbors (red flag laws).

They did, but IDK the status of more unredaction.

It's amazing that for 4 years they pushed gun laws as 1 of their huge things they want to do. But now when the DNC controls everything, the fed bills are sure taking their sweet time. It's like them blaming that Trump won't sign it is no longer a scapegoat.

I fully expect Hawaii to make such a demand on guns in the near future,
it will be curious how many cops will want to enforce those laws..

Having been on the "wrong side" of FOIA requests a number of times, it varies.
First is a legit gripe, but there is sensitive info files/correspondence. Tough one there and takes a LONG time to review what can, should, or needs to be redacted.
Second is a legit gripe, but between two parties and FOIA request to a third party caught in the middle by the sides trying to prove a point.
Third was a PURE fishing expedition. Asking for info under guise of "save the fishermen of Okinawa" and asking for "anything and everything" to do with something that has NO impact on the subject, but name of project/effort/study was mentioned once in a report. That one was easy to defend.
Overall, FOIAs are a huge PITA, but I can understand the need, utility, etc.

How is the first amendment trampled on by mask mandates? I see no correlation, unless while you wear a mask you feel physically unable to speak.

Go back to the COVID Cult thread for that. This is not a discussion of all things COVID that you still disagree with and have to reiterate over and over ... again and again.
This thread's about Re: what can biden do to the 2A and guns with EO

the First doesn't only apply to speech but expression. The First falls, then the Second.

Doing a Obama / Biden phone calls FOIA is a great idea, I dont think it matters if it comes back all black bars. You will get to see how Many, how Often, and how Long they are, and more importantly Who is doing most of the talking. I have a feeling those numbers would make your average person say WTF?!?! is going on.
In the CBS Hunter interview recently, he claimed his father calls him everyday, at least once a day and also calls all of their other family members everyday. Add in Obama and I am pretty sure his day is burned up without doing any of the countries business.

Talking to his family every day sounds like a routine meant to keep him from forgetting who's who.

Biden's mind never worked very well even before he went senile. Now it is just a national embarrassment.

Forgot to add "while holding a banana to his ear".

I've been asking myself several times: why is gun control NOW a gigantic problem needing solving?
The timing seems unfortunate for the Bidens, and this topic can't help but publicize his son's felonious purchase of a handgun and subsequent disposal of it in a trash dumpster near a school -- gun was found by a regular dumpster diver.
How can Joe push more laws to create instant criminals of law abiding gun owners when he refuses to have the Justice Department charge his son?
Not a good message to send -- same old message we keep hearing: Laws only apply to the "little people". Those of us in power .... not so much.
-
I decided on Friday since Biden is going to sign EO’s to ban certain items, it is my duty as an American to buy those things he intends to ban. So I had to buy a short barreled AR 9mm pistol with brace that takes Glock magazines.
