My home in Mililani has increased 250% since I bought it in 2001. Not quite the spectacular return you had on your investments (and you still can't afford a car), but I'll take it.
Paid $383K, now worth over $900K.
Then there's my rental property in Hampton, VA, that's gone up the same percentage, if not more. Tack on the tax deductions via repairs, mortgage interest and depreciation, and I have not only a positive cash flow, but also someone else building equity for me.

Apparently there was some 'Freedom Fest' meet up thing I only heard about after on Saturday. I saw big groups of folks rolling in Jeeps, I thought it was a car cruise, but I found out after it was some mini rally thing. If you dont Facebook I guess you are left out on this kinda stuff.
