I tried skeet and had fun. I got to use my friends $4500 over under. And Mrs. CMO used her Mossberg 500.

The video only gives a broad comparison of the two with almost no details for each sport.
Skeet seemed complicated when I first tried it. Luckily, I had an experienced skeet shooter teach me. Our on-base skeet range was not busy after work, so we pretty much had the range to ourselves each visit. Great for not being rushed while learning.
We also had to load the catapults in the two houses with clays. There was a remote switch to do high, low and doubles from the stations.
By the second "match", I was hitting 23 out of 25 -- with a little coaching on leading based on the station position, and which of the doubles to go for first.
Good times!

Hehe
Anyways, serious kine. . .
I first started with a friend/group that had a thrower and we just set it up on a private range and was just "shootin' clays". I eventually tried both skeet and trap, luckily with some of the cool old timers. Some were both, some were one or the other. Good to get the insight and differences between the disciplines, swinging of the gun, chokes, etc. I love shooting both, but don't get to shot very often. If I did, I'd probably end up with shotty for both skeet and trap.

I think they are practically the same they both have orange things you shoot at. Shot guns have a pretty big spray just point and shoot can’t be that hard

How about
Skeet - clay's launch in front of you from left, right or both simultaneously.
Trap - clay's launch away forward from you.
Sporting clays - clay's launch from various points in various directions including rolling across ground.

"When shooting doubles, always shoot the target moving away from
you first, then break the incoming target."
Which one is traveling toward you changes as you move from one side of the layout to the other.
