RNC announces break with Presidential Debate Commission

I remember when they physically locked Ralph Nader out of the building because they were afraid of him trouncing the 2 idiots Bush and Gore because THEY decided those morons were better choices to lead the country than Nader.

How anyone lets those folks have that much power over elections for this long is pretty astonishing.

Both the Republicans and the Democrats felt they were required to hold debates.  As long as the candidates were allowed to ignore the questions and ramble on with their talking points, nobody complained much.

Starting with Obama (i think sparked by the fact checking and fake news era on the Web), the tactics changed. The debates became more interactive and more easily fact-checked by the viewers at home in near real time.  The new tactic was to try and score points by debunking any accusations the GOP candidates made -- and not just the DNC candidates, but also the moderators.  That's when the curtain was pulled back, and the Left leaning bias and unfairness was on stage for all to see.

I think the usefulness of the debates came to a screeching halt when Trump and Hildabeast faced off.  Most people watched it at their leisure vs. during broadcast, so the ratings don't even matter anymore.

I for one am glad the GOP woke up, but it's still a bit late.  They should have drop out AT LEAST bfore the Trump-Biden debates started tying the candidates' hands and imposing unrealistic time limits for the answers and rebuttals.

The video is a great description of the events that should have caused the GOP to stop allowing such a one-sided shit-show long ago, but especially after the Obama-Romney debacle.
