So our NV CCW is coming up soon and I called my trainer in NV who did our permits the last time to see if there are any updates or chatter to any change in the Metro's system.
So since COVID (CV), the LVMPD went online to make an appointment for the CCW apps for walk ins. It's like HI's RSVP system. Opens up 60 days in advance. Which is hard to schedule for non residents. He spoke to Metro and they don't plan on changing this any time soon, even with Vegas opening everything up. They had lots of CCW apps that they're still behind in processing.
And now since people were taking RSVP's and not showing up, they're making you submit your class completion paperwork in order to confirm your RSVP. Which means we would have to go for a short trip and take the required class, then come back months later to renew.
So we will try the above, but also plan on getting an AZ CCW which shares reciprocity with NV in case we cannot get our NV renewal.

Just an anecdotal tidbit, I just got my Arizona one in about 60 days as opposed to the 75 day+ lead time on the website, if anyone is looking to get one.

That sucks about the RSVP thing.
For AZ CCW, also check out Utah. Lots of trainers locally offer both without additional time/effort.

We may have to look into AZ. Thanks for the heads up/

Pre-COVID but I got my AZ in less than 30 days. Mailed it of early December 2017 and had it in hand 1st week of January 2018
But yeah, until I spend more time back in Nevada, It'll be hard to get that one

Read somewhere that NV was no longer honoring AZ license. I didn't look further into it because I don't plan on traveling anytime soon.

Per the metro website, they still honor AZ.

My NV, AZ and UT permits all expired between Oct and Nov of 2020. I renewed AZ & UT online and got both in about 2 weeks. I might go and get another NV next year.

HI should be valid world wide since it's like a unicorn to get.

Nope. The other states assume that if you have a HI permit, it MUST be a forgery!
