How many people running this? Debating to do it. Prob be just to spend $ on something that won't break the bank.
Interesting side note, on YT, I noticed the owners left thumb is a nub. So IDK if that's how he got the name.
-
I like it. Bought it off ebay with ebay bucks. So technically i think i paid 5 bucks for it. This was when they gave 10% back in ebay bucks. And i prob bought it when the ebay promo was goin on so maybe $4.50 ish.
Its really not necessary but youll feel the difference. Kinda like pinching a 22lr vs pinching a 9mm round. Idk if that makes sense but having a larger area is pretty neatoooh

Just be sure to get the correct version.
If you have that sls hood you needs a diff 1.
-
Are you having issues disengaging the latch?
I ended up getting some because the 1911 ALS holster has a safety guard and is difficulty to use.

Nope. Mine is easy peasy. When you say safety guard do uou mean that flappy thing that you push over the als if someone is trying to steal your gun?

I'll see if I can post a pic later, but it's an extra piece of kydex molded over to cover the 1911 thumb safety.

I need to trim some material off because the lever is wider now.

I stand corrected. My safariland holster does not look like that. Maybe that style is made specifically for 1911s?? (That idk cause i do not own any 1911s, sorry.)
Heres a pic of my p226 level 2 holster. I moved my nub to my level 1 glock holster cause i do not have any p226 or p229s anymore. Debating whether to buy another down the road.
Ignore the dust please lol.
-
And heres a pic of glock level 1 with nub.
Theres nothing in the way like yours. Sorry dude. If it was me id prob cut that top part off and sand the edges with 2k grit sandpaper. But then again i think they have that extra plastic above cause of the thumb safety.. i could see it potentially snagging like a jawstring from a jacket or something or possibly disengaging it

No, just looking to spend $. Holster comes in in a few days.
-
None of my ALS holsters have that. At least one shooting buddy has them on his ALS. Most others don't. I haven't felt the need or desire to try anything different, but maybe I'm just missing out on what I am ignorant of. It's not like I don't have the opportunity to try it out. That said, if I did end up liking it, I'd have to buy over a dozen of them. . . :'(

If you have $$$ burning a hole in your pocket, feel free to donate some ammo. ;D

My jerkoff neighbor told me about it. I was totally clueless and never thought to look up this kind of aftermarket part. Now thanks to him, it peaks interest.
Don't got a whole lot of $, but the nub ain't too much. Not like spending $300 on a handguard.

Thanks for posting that. I was wondering if they make a hood for a 1911.

Nubs are seemingly what all the kool keedz are getting. I may have to get one. :hmm:
-
Holster came in. No need for the nub mod for me. I have no issue disengaging the ALS. Also tried various positions and was able to disengage SLS/ALS no problem. Seated, prone, tako style, etc... Compared to my other holster which prevented prone and tako style.
I did have to change the attachment to my fit my G-code drop leg. Used the RTI attachment. Blue loctite drying as I type this.Gonna put reference markers on the rest of the screws.
