I saw this article today and it reminded me how important it is to stress upon others proper gun handling and safety. You could be saving a life by being the super anal guy who speaks up when he sees something.

Idiot. I mean, really, even if the gun had actually been unloaded, even if it did have a magazine disconnect, even if you were trying to make a point about firearm safety.... DON"T POINT A GUN AT YOUR OWN HEAD! You shouldn't need to take a firearms safety class to understand the dangers involved in POINTING A GUN AT YOUR OWN HEAD!
I'm sorry that such a success story came to such an untimely end, but come on! For those in the cheap seats, DON'T POINT.... (sigh)

He broke the basic gun safety rules. It's a shame to see a young life come to end, hope I never have to witness anything like that. Talk about being scarred for life...

Proper gun safety really is an overlooked issue that I think starts when you are young, if you were brought up around people who know proper gun safety or not. I was watching a tv show about "the hutterites" the other day and there was a group of guys out hunting deer, I dont know if it is the way it was edited or what but they were all pretty unsafe looking and on top of that firing off shots one after another without any concern for any accuracy (again this could just be how it was edited) I just shook my head..
Its too bad what happened to this kid, And I dont think his friends that were there will be buying guns any time soon.

Darwin Award WINNAR!
Yup...this was no ACCIDENT. This was sheer stupidity. I'd expect more of someone out of the US Military Academy.
