For those wondering who Dan is.
He is a huge 2a supporter. Him and the wife did many testimonies during the legislative session. He also was working on a Chaminade 2a type scholarship.
His most compelling testimony was in person for a ccw bill, precovid. It went something like this:
Im a retired hpd detective. Within the 1st few weeks of being a rookie, i learned im a glorified note taker. Often i arrived on scene after the crime took place.
When I retired, i turned in my gun, badge, radio, and cuffs. Now im a regular person and defenseless like everyone else.
Also his wife testified that a woman was sexually assaulted in her office elevator/bldg. And no one can carry. Below is a pic of the guy. Same guy tried to rape a girl in my condo lobby. Security was there and called 911 and the resident manager who lives on site. Female security couldnt help. It wasnt until the resident mgr came down and kicked ass, he's male. HPD arrived 8 mins later.
My bldg incident happened weeks before Dans wifes office incident. Because the girl in my bldg was too shooken up to press charges, he was just trespassed.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20211024/861cf1e428fab15be0844b4e66a61541.jpg)

2A Hawaii, you guys better be there. He's the one that saved you from a lot of the gun control bills in the legislature. He testified in person all the time, talk to legislators, did outreach, and worked 2A in the community. He was there all the time, not only fighting for gun rights, but working the volunteer projects with HRA, LIFE, and hunters education to ensure the 2A continues in the future. He sacrificed his time for all of you.
Everyone here owes him this.

Hard to recognize people with masks on.
Dan's son delivered a great eulogy.

I wish I was able to attend. Had work. From what I hear he did plenty for the cause.

Dan trained me to become an NRA Certified RSO. We worked together numerous times at the Shooting Sports Fairs. He was always very cordial to me and asked me to work the SSF’s and talked me into putting more hours/days than I originally planned to.
This is not only a huge loss for Hawaii, but it is a very personal loss for me.
