Thanks for sharing this.
Disgusting to see this "NYPD officer" treat the American Flag this way. Maybe it is reinforcing the comments made here and all across America about lack of people wanting to enter the LE profession because it's just not worth it anymore.
And the result of that is they will be forced to fill the ranks with less less desirable applicants. And it seems the officer in the video might be one of them.
Also the guy's comment on no ID required for voting and sex offenders privacies is also a joke. It shows how bad the nation has become. We protect the privacy of sex offenders but law abiding citizens wishing to exercise their 2a rights to own arms has to register with a national data base. A data base formed initially to keep track of convicted criminals.
The current nut job in the WH has the lowest approval ratings and it only gets worse every day. How the hell he can claim he garnered the most votes in history only leads suspicion of which "no ID to vote" can be partially contributed to be one of the reasons.
With so many people disappointed with the current POTUS it makes me believe that a lot of Americans were apathetic at the last election. And the "Ghost" voters elected him in. And now they are regretting it.
Well if that is true I hope these yo-yo's get off their ass in 2024 and get involved. :grrr:

Did she stomp on it (intent) or did she just turn around to address someone and carelessly step on it?
-
I'm fine with people stomping on the American flag. Better than fake patriots quick to wave flags but not understand what is represents. A real patriot is proud to live in a country where people can stomp on the flag and it means nothing. Just smile and let it go. No need to feel anger.
I don't personally care if someone steps on the flag as I am not big on symbolism but it doesn't look good for a police officer to be doing it. My comment was only to push back on the attention getting headline saying she stomped on it when isn't obvious from the video that she intentionally stepped on the flag.

What he/she/they is saying is it's okay to stomp on the US flag, because true patriots don't mind if their symbols are publicly desecrated and destroyed.
Just don't misgender him/her/they with the wrong pronouns. That's considered assault, and you should be charged with a hate crime.
I think I got that right....

I recognize many fake patriots that don't believe in American democracy and like to wave the flag but don't believe in what it stands for. I speak with many people that claim they believe in freedom while they try to take freedom from others.
I see many people, some on this forum, who think they know more than others about freedom, yet they've never once made a meaningful sacrifice for that freedom -- no military service, not married to a military member, never ran for office, never made a contribution to an organization that supports freedom, etc.
Hell, one person who USED to be on the forum was offered a free membership in the 2A organization of his choice. He didn't even want to contribute someone else's money to help fight for freedom! How stupid is that? But, he was all about freedom and liberty! He said so all the time, over and over, in thread after thread.
In addition, he was always arguing about his constitutional rights. He never grasped that constitutional rights only count when the government is violating them. If a private citizen stops you from expressing your opinions, there's no constitutional amendment about that.
I learned very early in life many people think they know all about their rights, yet none of those know one thing about their responsibilities. People like that believe anything they want is a right, and anything they don't want is a constitutional violation.
I hope you aren't like that. We took a long time trying to open his eyes, but he was just smarter than the rest of us and refused to consider he might be wrong.

This statement differs from the one u made about patriots not caring if someone stomps on the symbol of our nation/freedom.
1 can be for freedom (1A and stomping on a flag is protected) and still not like the action of stomping/burning the flag.

Fake patriots? Tell us about fake patriots - you two know more about them every morning when you look into the mirror.

So you want to shoot somebody that stomps on the flag? Send them to prison for a year? I will pray for you all.
Pray for yourself, bro. Don't worry about us. We got it.

What church do you belong to? Are you attending Christmas Mass tonight?
If so, take pics and post for us.

How did you get shooting somebody from that quote?
Better watch your bearing, your course is way off

Have you ever heard of reading comprehension?
How did you get from "and still not like the action of stomping/burning the flag" to "So you want to shoot somebody that stomps on the flag? Send them to prison for a year?"
Maybe instead of making up FAKE comments that nobody but you posted (shooting and prison) -- which are called straw arguments -- try ASKING what they would consider just punishment for intentionally stomping, burning or otherwise desecrating the US flag. That way, you're arguing over what someone actually posted, and not some troll's misinterpretation of something they didn't come close to saying.
Since you're going to "pray for" us, I'd really like to know what religion you are a member of. It would help us learn about your beliefs and where you are coming from with your comments.
At this point, I'm leaning toward the Church of Satan. Maybe even Scientology. Your argumentative style when engaging others here is not very Christian.

More like the church of head in ass! :D

Nice how you attack anyone with views different than yours. I'm not responding further. I know you.
Wrong, he is not attacking different views, but a single view calling for violence that you brought up yourself. Violence is not good.
It is a specific view and not "views" in his post.

If by "different views" you mean "it's not okay to accuse people of making comments they never wrote," then I'll have to agree -- he has different views than you.

I would call them proud Americans who fought and sacrificed for us. Take some ownership of your country. That I consider more patriotic than what is being taught in college. Blood and sacrifice!
I'll say it, yes I have a problem with an officer stepping on OUR flag.

Interacting with angry old men is just pointless.
I’d hardly call that “interacting”

Such people certainly exist, I think that is undeniable. Patriotism becomes an identity label and the actual ideals of freedom can end up meaning less than the identity of the group claiming the patriot label. The don't like when the flag is disrespected because it is an attack on their tribe so protecting the label becomes important while they might give up freedom for others or wipe their face with american flag napkins. These people exist but it is a huge leap to go from someone being upset that a cop stepped on a flag to calling them all fake patriots.
Where are you even going to with argument? Are you saying a member of this forum behaves in such a way? Are you saying the person who made the video acts in such a way? Who are the fake patriots? If you don't care about someone stepping on a flag thats fine to say but going on to declare that real patriots don't care about the flag being stepped on is rather insulting.
Many Christians may be angered if someone burned a bible whereas I don't care because god doesn't live in the book, it doesn't hurt god, but that doesn't make them fake christians.

Your logic is faulty. Everything serves a purpose, I would never hang a Ford truck with a flag from a pole.
I have coasters with our wedding pictures on it our daughter gifted to us. Am I insulted people puts drinks on them? Are you an American citizen or not? What purpose does our flag serves? Think about it!

Even if those of us who served and sacrificed for our country and will defend your right to do and say these things about our flag, my question: what is so wrong about honoring the symbolism of what our flag signifies?
I'll bet you never served in the military and never felt the pride of serving our country.
If so, that's ok. But when differing upon opinions as to what a real patriot is, tread carefully.
And respectfully.
Because a lot of us don't take kindly to those who talk the talk and don't walk the walk.

For me personally I don't really subscribe to symbolism so I don't usually get offended or angered if someone damaged a symbol of something I hold dear. A flag, a uniform, a family crest, etc. I don't really care. If it is my own personal property then thats another story but thats not the symbolism at work. Basically I think adherence to symbolism has zero bearingon whether someone is a patriot or not.
Nonetheless I understand that others subscribe to symbolism and feel strongly about it. I think most beer tastes nasty and don't know why anyone would touch it but people value different things in their life. Some people love music where I wouldn't care if music ceased to exist.
