I am currently not planning to take a trip to the other islands. I was able to acquire some primers from SE and wanted to share some with my friend on the Big Island. I have used FedEx in the past, so I loaded them into a box and added some 9mm for future use. Went to the Lagoon Drive Ship Center and was told they no longer except ammunition and I would have to use a third party. I emailed them and they quoted up to $350 for their services (pack in a container, paperwork, and label) and the FedEx cost of $135-145? :o
I called Aloha Ship and Pack and they said they process the shipment. That was last week, I was not able to go until yesterday, now they said the were just informed the FedEx has changed their policy and they could no longer ship ammunition .
Does anyone know how I can get the primers and ammo to the Big Island, except on my next trip, 11 pounds at a time? Thanks

Suggest YB also. We’ve sent to the neighbor islands using YB. They’re pretty reasonable, but the paperwork at the dock and the drop off process could be improved. It’s been a while, but mid-Covid it was about $70 to ship a couple cases. Just make sure you have the big orange 1.4S stickers (they won’t give you any).
FedEx won’t touch ammo in Hawaii. UPS will only intra-Oahu under the limited quantity exemption. I believe UPS will also send between islands as fully regulated hazmat. It can be an expensive cert ($600+ last I heard) to get from ups and the shipping process is a hassle so most shippers shy away from fully regulated hazmat (and it’s expensive).
