Dry fire practice in a home is quite a challenge in terms of making sure the experience is faithful. It involves setting up targets above or below you (to account for stair rise or fall), as well as distances where potential bullet drop may alter the trajectory of a shot. As such, you may want to place a paper target where it will normally be situated, and then place a laser bullseye where a shot would actually wind up. This would apply to offset aiming situations, where the aim point differs from the point where a real bullet would enter a target. If you feel confident that your sights are calibrated to the target center, then all you need is a laser bullseye.
One expensive solution is a CoolFire mod to a pistol you will use for home defense. In the extreme, this requires buying a second handgun matching your main one, plus additional accessories. The second weapon is modified with a gas-charging system (for recoil simulation) and a laser targeting module. This is supposedly better than plastic Laserlyte guns and SIRT training pistols. No, I have not gone down this $$$ rabbit hole, yet.

I use this. This way I can use my own trigger, instead of a gun that SIRT doesn't make.  And it's way cheaper than a SIRT.
