Title: SB1567: bail reform >> tell Ige to veto
Post by: rpoL98 on May 08, 2022, 01:25:15 PM
please demand that Gov Ige veto the ill-advised bail reform bill sitting at his desk.  We don't need to follow the failed examples of San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and turn Hawaii into a true criminals paradise.  These libtard lawmakers seem to think that the poor criminal is the victim.  Hawaii's catch-&-release justice system is already bad enough, even without a "get-out-of-jail-free" card.  Criminals gonna get a free pass on property theft, shoplifing, identity theft, car break-ins, burglary, fraudulent credit card use, etc.   must be a lot of George Soros money floating around.   JMHO

If Ige doesn't veto this BS nonsense then it is true what everyone knew all along.

Gov. Leaders in Hawaii do not have the interests of the people at heart.  And Hawaii is 99.9% Democrats.  What does this tell you.

Hawaii Leaders just want your vote.  Not your f**kn input.

I find it interesting that our highest ranked public official has a last name that means lowest rank in Japanese. Needless to say, it is not a popular name in Japan and is in fact uncommon.  I think our hardly do anything Governor is just going to let it pass without his signature because he is usually afraid to take a firm stand on controversial matters.

Also probably because he's a lame duck governor.  On his way out.  Just collecting the paychecks.

To me he's not a lame duck.  Just lame.  From the very beginning of his term(s).

Appears that he will sign or let it become law.

Gov. David Ige said he’s still considering the bill.

“We want to look at the reform passed a couple years ago and see the progress made,” said Ige. “Then just make an evaluation of what is contained in this new proposal.”

Why does someone like him care anyways.

That person in the article called Kat Brady, who is supposed to be community coordinator on prisons or something like that, said in the article that crime actually goes down when states adopt similar bail reform.  He mentioned New Jersey.  Really?

I wish people like this would not only make their statement but explain how and why.  How exactly does crime go down about the same rate as people released on no bail.  In the New Jersey case it was mentioned 20%.

How can that happen.  And it better not be because of the poor unable to post bail.  In my opinion that's Bullcr*p.  They'll do it again.  And again.

Meanwhile, Business owners and property owners have to deal with repairs, higher insurance, and the trauma and stress that comes with the crimes committed, while their customers bear the brunt of these crimes with higher prices to offset the lost property.

People like Ige care more for the criminals than the taxpayer public who pay his salary and his loyal constituents who were stupid enough to put him in office in the first place.
