Canada is under the same monarchy government system, just like UK and Australia. No surprise they are following the same disarmament path.
The US fought a revolution against the British in part because the Brits were attempting to confiscate the colonist's firearms.
Meanwhile, these same countries are applauding weapons being shipped to Ukrainian private citizens to fight Russia.

Yup, banned all gun sales/importation and the next day decriminalize possession of 2.5g of Coke, Meth and Heroin.
Junkie can't get shot while assaulting and robbing you to pay for his fix, that would be "immoral". :wacko:

Wants to ban sale,import, and transfer of pistols. Not possession. So grandfather clause. But how long b4 they remove that.

Love how quickly there are those who parrot "well, Australia/UK banned guns and gun deaths went down". They don't mention that gun deaths didn't magically cease to exist, or that statistics show MUCH higher violent crime (assault, rape, etc). Sigh. . .

If I recall, gun deaths were already on a decline in AUS when they banned most guns. Since then, reports showed that gun crimes -- i.e illegal possession of guns -- increased in a major way, yet mass shootings were not happening.
Must be something other than guns causing that, huh?

Seriously though, I'll have to reconnect with my friend who runs a couple of firearms forums in OZ and NZ. They have some serious mis-information, or lack of awareness of facts down there. But yeah, last I heard, firearm ownership numbers were going trending up. No facts to support though, just what my friends told me. :(
