2 CCW's on Kauai approved. Which makes 9.5% off apps approved and 90.% denied.
17 denied on Oahu, that's an unusally high number of apps.
57K guns registered
7 guns confiscated., all on Oahu. 4 assault pistols, 2 SBRs, 1 short barrrel shotgun.

I can't be sure this is the exact report the OP refers to, since he didn't post the link. I can only ASSUME this is the report:

If you're an armed criminal these are wonderful numbers, which is why if I see something I shut the f up.

I’m assuming we’d know if our apps were denied. I hope

Been waiting on this.
Updated the spreadsheet to show how screwed we are.
But I guess we are seeing progress. The Chief in Kaua'i approved 2 CCW permits. I guess his Las Vegas-ness is showing.
The permits approved in Kaua'i is good proof that there is a system in place to approve permits and a "new system" isn't needed. The Chief followed the law and the process. So screw Logan and his refusal to issue permits

It's a 2 tiered system and they just proved it.

There is a system in place but you gotta be their friend. Or family.
This is, after all, Hawaii.
-
there is a system in place. it's one that they never intended to use. just take out the part about needing a reason and use the process already in place
I got my letter regarding my CCW app from chief logan basically saying wait until we change the process before you get approved
what kind of BS is that?
-
They never thought the high bar would ever get knocked o the ground. But now they have to scramble to fix it. In the meanwhile we are still left to suffer. A lawsuit won't do anything because by the time it makes the court rounds they'll have a new system in place and go "See... we have a system to issue now". About the only thing we could hope for would be an emergency injunction (or whatever they call it) forcing the chiefs to start issuing until the legislature changes the laws.

Which is why they're working on changing the law/requirements. Too bad there's no lawsuit that can be won regarding this.

And when they change it, the lawyer will get stiffed with the bill. Lawsuit would be moot because the law has been changed. We are seeing this with the years longs taser lawsuit.

Many people ignore my comments because I don't like government,
But I got the same BS letter from the Hawaii county enforcer.
Wait Till Sept. and re-apply.
We had rights, Hawaiian's pissed them away.
:grrr:

And repeat, ad nauseam..............
Y'all do not really believe they will comply, do you?

I wish I could be more optimistic.
But honestly, when you look at all the loopholes we have to jump through to own a firearm, complying with the SCOTUS ruling is not going to be a slam dunk.
Hawaii will procrastinate and drag it out as long as they possibly can. And the negative nellie in me is thinking right now this instant they are planning to implement the most frustrating, costly, and restrictive CCW carry that can be devised.
They are burning the midnight oil on this. And we must not be deterred. This way they will not win. They will win if we just stand by and do nothing.

The SCOTUS decision explicitly states that this cannot be done. But knowing Hawaii, they will and then we have to fight it out again

Yeah, how many more lawsuits of 5, 10, 12 years duration while those lawsuits eventually become moot because the bureaucrats create more , as Oahu chief said, "not restrictions, but procedures"?
Meanwhile on the phone to HPD (Hawaii, not Honolulu) when inquiring when I was likely to get a response from the chief on my unconcealed/concealed application, the clerk told me "Just be patient." My thought, but not verbalized, was: "I've already been waiting 30 f*cking years!" smh.
I got the same letter as Groveler a few days ago. I can't wait to see what the new chief (Sept.1) does about the carry applications. The letter (dated July 25) said that the new applications were "expected" to be ready within the next 30 days. That's two weeks at this point.
They mean like "TWO WEEKS TO FLATTEN THE CURVE"? smh. Marxist dogs.
How are they gonna require a "live fire" training course requirement (aka "procedure") without there being a public range in the county?
