The FBI, Ohio State Highway Patrol and local law enforcement are currently engaged in a standoff with the suspect in Wilmington, Ohio. Authorities said the suspect is contained in a cornfield.
At a press conference Thursday afternoon, Ohio State Highway Patrol said shots were fired from the suspect's vehicle before it exited Interstate 71.
The suspect and police then exchanged shots after the suspect pilled off the interstate. No officers were injured.
The man is armed with an AR-15-style rifle and has brandished a nail gun, law enforcement sources said.
Authorities believe the suspect is from Columbus and is wearing body armor. A law enforcement source told ABC News he appears to have a gunshot wound to his leg but remains mobile.

The US empire is preparing to outright ban gun and/or body armor ownership or at least setting things up for federal laws that red flag/tax/confiscate selected forms of guns and/or body armor. From the information coming out about the alleged shooter/patsy today and as I said in an earlier post in this thread, big moves towards ultimate gun confiscation will be made. What that looks like, we will find out shortly in the coming months.
