Title: looking for optimized load for a 24" ar
Post by: MassConfusion on October 19, 2022, 07:49:09 AM
I picked up a fluted 24" ar top a few years ago, chambered as a Wylde 1:9.  So i was wondering if anyone had fooled around with this particular barrel length and optimizing a load to take advantage of the extra few inches.  I have the standard 55gr heads but i wanted to try using 69gr to extend its range out a little bit.  Like i said, could use standard load data but was wondering if anyone had tried fiddling with different powders to get a little extra out of each round.

** Was looking at the load data here, could probably figure out the charge size from the powder manufacturer.  At least min charge, or pay 20$ and unlock it.

Whats funny is I picked up another upper at the same time but it was a 5.56 20" with a 1:8. It dependa where you look online too as to who recomends the weight range for the assiciated twist. Ive seen 3 or 4 different head to twist recommendation charts.
