We went through 2 impeachments with zero evidence of any crime.
And they've been trying to get him on a procedural "crime" ever since -- hence the raid on his home and the J6 fiasco.
Nixon wasn't almost impeached for the Watergate break-in. He was in trouble for the cover up. Just like Martha Stewart -- investigated for securities crimes but not charged, yet still went to prison for trying to cover up.
It's how the DOJ rolls. I think it all goes back to Al Capone. Couldn't get him for murder (which everyone knew he was guilty of), so they got him for tax evasion.

Don't forget they still want to see his tax returns. Even though the IRS has them and the people who do the background check on presidential candidates/presidents. They are not the IRS and have no power to do anything regardless of what it states in there. If a crime was committed, the IRS would have found it by now.

That's where your wrong. Putin could tell Biden or any other DNC POTUS "do not fart on my micorphone or I willl launch nukes against the US". Then Biden farts on it. The media will in no way blame him/DNC and cover.
