Now that Obama is back in office, people are starting to complain.

To be honest, I voted ABO (anybody but obama). Romney was not not my first pick for the Republican ticket, but he was ABO.

I voted but it's none of the Candidates you have listed (Gary Johnson). However in a pessimistic view it's not like it would've changed the Hawaii Electoral College vote (all 4 of it) to go to Obama.

Speaking of Gary Johnson, I would have voted for Ron Paul in a heartbeat. But the GOP didn't want him and made it really painful to cast a vote for Romney. But yes, he was the lesser of two evils.

No hate here. As long as your vote was informed, cast knowing how you want the country run and who you feel aligns himself/herself with your view, I can't hate on that.

I agree. I've heard of so many people voting for a candidate blindly just because he/she was from the same home down, race, is a minority, etc without knowing ANYTHING about what views that candidate has.

This is a big problem across our nation. Sad that most people vote that way or what is he going to get me to make my life easier.

Let me ask u all this . Is the reason u all voted for Mitt was to save your firearms and nothing else ? I looked at Berry's track record with helping unions . I'm a union worker. Because of my union job it allows me to get firearms . So I guess its a bit funny . If I had to choose its work .

Glad to see pro-gun Obama supporters, actually... 2a and self defense is a constitutional right for everyone.
While, we may disagree about many things including economic policies, social policies, and the way this country is going, it's kind of good to see that we have that in common at least.

I am not going to say here who I voted for. I'll leave it at a mystery. Here was my dilemma:
I am not union but I was. And I will get a small pension when I retire. But not if the union doesn't exist when the time comes. I am anti union. Have always been even while working for a union shop.
Also, the company I currently work for got a large piece of the design work for the rail project. This project will make my company profitable again cuz right now its not doing so well. And it will keep me working for 5-8 years when it gets started. I retire in 8 years. I am anti rail.

So who knows who I voted for? Only the Shadow knows....

U r right that is a dilemma. I'm pro union but not for rail . My company also has a large part with the rail. I live on the west side but really not for it . Yet its work and work pays bills

I am not going into other things I have strong opinion on. Maybe we should just keep to firearms topics. Just stay informed and fight to keep O'Bummer, and anyone else for that matter, from taking our 2nd rights.

I voted Romney, but let's be honest here...NO ONE in Hawaii voted for President. That's just how its always been and will always be. A "winner" is almost always declared wayyy before our polls close. Our 4 Electoral Votes are so measly that no candidate has bothered to actively campaign here. So let's not fool ourselves, you could've written in Elvis Aaron Presley, Santa Claus, or the frick'n Easter Bunny and it wouldn't make a lick of difference.
***ETA: I'm not saying we shouldn't vote, just that voting for a National race in Hawaii is purely symbolic.

I gotta say I have a love hate relationship with politics. Its like a car accident that happens infront of you, you can't but help watch the carnage. I gotta say this years republican sucked as a choice, I love McCain of the 80s and 90s. If they had a better candidate he would he beat Obama. As for Romney and gun law if I'm not.mistaken he's from mass and their gun laws are super strict and he did little to fix them (correct me if I'm wrong). If Tad Nugget ran he'd get my vote cause he'd ensure every kid be born with a gun in their hand.

If Ron Paul wasn't run out of the convention he would have kicked Romney's silver-spoon ass. Gary was a weak replacement, especially given his support of the prison industrial complex, which is just another handout to special interests. Welfare for the prison-state.

I'm just saying, that Obama got more votes on a gun forum poll than Romney did in a whole slew of precincts. That seems pretty goddamn strange to me. In fact, it seems more than strange. It seems like something from that movie "The Dictator" with Sasha Baren Cohen. :wtf:

Something very interesting about voting, courtesy of Doug Casey. I suggest reading the entire interview. It's very intriguing opinion. BTW, I voted Gary Johnson. The reason? Because I agree with Libertarian ideology, or at least what they represent in America (i.e. Ron Paul) much more than I agree with Republicrats. Er, I mean, Demopublicans. Sorry, I just can't get it right.

Unions and government, don't trust either. Look at Hawaii, the unions won this election for Caldwell. The rail wont help traffic and all of those billions of dollars could have been put to far better use. Roads and infrastructure are an obvious choice as well as investing in tourism. The US economy is in the can, but Hawaii could capitalize on it's money maker, especially with Asian countries on the rise. The problem is unions have figured out that they can vote themselves a bigger piece of pie, and because they have gotten so powerful the trend will continue until nothing is left. Increased tourism would benefit the entire state via the trickle-down effect instead of the rail only benefiting a few. If Hawaii really wanted to relieve traffic congestion it would focus on road maintenance/expansion. Look at the stretch of freeway between Pali and Punahou, something as simple as lane restripping has definitely cut down on traffic in the area. Imagine the funds for the rail put to use in increasing roadway efficiency and expansion. Instead those funds will go to a project that will do nothing for the state except provide a few jobs and make a few people very wealthy. :wacko:
