Got a email from them saying they’re going to have an outside ammo package. Just called them to ask how much is it and the CCW course. Said they haven’t set the price for either yet

It’s $1200 annually covers the daily range fees and you can use outside ammo.
Good deals if you ask me.
-
how about reloads?
or just put the reloads in a factory box :geekdanc:

No reloads and they will inspect the ammo when they check in your gun.

Doesn’t include ammo? This is a terrible deal

Depends how much u go.
If u shoot less than 3k a year of 9mm, then its a bad deal. And esp if u shoot 1k of 9mm a year.
I was recently in an indoor range in vegas. Paid $15 for range fee and brought my own ammo. No extra surcharge.

They probably have competing businesses.

Yup, 2 ranges i called allowed u to.
1 didnt because they dont allow personal guns. They are 100% rental.
Also Range 702 allowed me to draw with no additional class/charge.

If you go to the range 4x a month alone you are getting that investment back just on range fees. For myself that’s a deal cause I typically go 1x a week. Add in the fact I have a load of my own ammo to use and there is nowhere else to practice…for me it’s well worth it.

Damn!!!

Would there be a time limit to shoot, or can you shoot all day?

if you wrote a letter...
X-Ring got more user friendly all of a sudden. ;)

They didn’t tell me there was a limit so I’m assuming you could shoot all day

Yup...
Miss bringing my own ammo. Used to go to RANGE702, Gun Garage (closed) and Discount Firearms over on Highland. American Shooters on Spring Mountain used to also but haven't been to any of those in years now. There were a couple ranges on the north end of town that I know of too but they were too far away. I lived in Spring Valley (Trop & Jones)

1k per year? There was a time when I shot close to 1k/month. That time is long gone though. I was getting back to about there this past summer, as my work schedule loosened up. . . but then range shut down. . . :(

Between me and my son we were at 1k a month or more. I'm close to that myself now, I shoot mostly reloads though. Will X-ring let you bring someone? or will they have to pay $25 to join you.

Call them and post the details here. I'm going to assume for your son, it would be another $1200.
-
I read the conversation in the post the other day, but was a little unclear. Do they offer it monthly as well? It mentioned $100/month, but it sounded more like a price breakdown because I would think longer membership would be a discounted price.

I had a bad experience shooting there when they first opened. Went there to teach someone how to shoot. No coaching. Then they said I couldn't bring tape or pen inside. I'm like wow. That and all of their holster and rapid fire fees and other past issues.

Ya. I’m never spending a cent at XRing. Maybe if they have all new ownership. And even then, maybe.

X-Ring doesn't seem like a business I would like to patronize. I'm thinking, what if you go with a friend and you just want to give him a few useful tips? What if your friend is a newbie and is flagging the gun all over the place? Do you shut up because "no can teach in hea?" >:(
Looks like the place is set up to "pay to play". And pay and pay and pay again. Maybe even gotta pay to leave the place when done.

I made a quick inquiry the other day. I could coach my wife and assist with form but no official teaching classes. She would need to also sign up for the annual $1200 membership if she wants to shoot outside ammo. Otherwise she could pay daily range fee and buy ammo from store
I’m not shooting there…just wait for Kokohead to reopen.

Often at gyms people get scoldings for training someone. Most only get scoldings if they're being compensated for the training. So friends training friends or family or what ever and no compensation is OK. But it's all honor system. I have seen someone claim this, but yet brings in 3-4 people a day for 1 hr each. The gym kicked him out.
I mean if X was cool, they could allow trainers as long as they pay the standard range fees/ammo. Because this helps the 2a cause. But we all know what their business motto is. And as a trainer, you're bringing in new business, so both sides would benefit.
